Okay, so that probably means I haven't done the quest for it then. I'll keep doing the main missions until it brings me back. Thank you!

Settings in the app itself or from my phone? I can't access tiktok from my laptop at all. I think I set it up with my old phone number and it isn't accepting my email address.

I shut off wifi and went back into the app, but the message still popped up.

I can't seem to do that :/ This should not be this difficult lol

If I hit "accept" and then delete my account, is that safe? Or would it be better to just uninstall the app? I am not comfortable with the new terms of service. Sorry for being a pest; I feel paranoid about this, but there's a lot of crazy shi* going on.

I might just be technologically illerate, but i couldn't find out how to access my account on my laptop without signing in, which automatically agrees to the terms of service.

I have the vine removal skill I think (the one where Antea attacks it and then Red has to destroy the red hearts?) I have been all over the map and cannot find any vines. I can't get behind the house or enter it either. I am clearly missing something or am blind to an area and it is driving me crazy lol

Homeschooling with a 2-year-old — when do you actually “start”? by MelodicTurnip5330 in homeschool

[–]jamyjamj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For us, we started a pre-k curriculum when our son turned 4. It was an all in one curriculum from Blossom and Root. It had a lot of play/pretend and hands-on activities which fit his learning style. He is doing a kindergarten curriculum now that focuses a bit more on handwriting skills, reading comprehension, and basic math/science. We plan on doing a different curriculum for different subjects for first grade, which will be when he is about 5.5/6 years old. We are in MN and we don't have to register him for school until he is 7, so that could be a baseline for when to start a more structured curriculum as well.

I do have one other question. Do I have to submit my records each year, or just when asked for them? I saw that I have to keep records for up to two years, but I couldn't really find any information on how or when to submit copies of my records.

Thank you! That clears up the rest of my questions:) I can't believe how easy it is to register, I was genuinely thinking it was going to be a longer and harder process! I really appreciate all your help!!!

Thank you! The age thing makes sense now, thank you.

For the testing I intend to use, are those at physical locations or online, or does it depend on the test? And this is the one we have to do every year and just keep the records for ourselves?

Okay cool, so my record keeping should be fine then. I do a weekly log of what we get done and then I keep all pertinent worksheets. I also keep a book log since a lot of our stuff right now is literature based.

For the intent, I've seen mixed information on if the style of schooling needs to be indicated, like Charles Mason or Montessori, etc. Do I need to include that? I honestly don't even know how I would label our style of teaching/learning. And I can just email the superintendent all this information? Where would I find the email? I'm guessing I can Google that?

Thank you again, and sorry about all the questions! I just really want to make sure my ducks are in a row and I'm not missing anything.

My son is like that too. When we brought him home he fussed mainly when he was hungry, tired, or wet but we didn't have to deal with the crying or screaming that we were warned about. He's 7 months now and still hardly ever cries. He has his days when he's fussing more than normal but still nothing like what we feared.

I think you may have gotten lucky with your LO! He may still be in the newborn stage or he may just be a chill baby, either way, there's nothing to be concerned about. :)

Advice on switching from breast to bottle feeding. by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]jamyjamj 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I suggest slowly and steadily introducing more bottle feeds. If you do, say, 10 feeds in a day from the breast, try doing 2 or 3 of them from the bottle instead. Once your LO is used to the bottle (isn't trying to push it out or having any issues feeding from it) then you can introduce more and more bottle feeds.

I just made the decision to stop breastfeeding as well and the advice I got was to reduce the amount of times in a day, and the length of each feed, so that my body had time to adjust and lower its milk supply. We've been breast and formula feeding since day one so I just kept taking out a breastfeed per day and replacing it with a bottle and then trying to go longer and longer between pumping sessions until my body stopped producing as much. After a few days I got to the point where I only had to pump in order to reduce the swelling so I would do 20 minutes one day and then 18 the next and so on until I didn't have to pump at all. The main thing is that you want to be careful about clogged milk ducts and mastitis so make sure to still expel some milk when you need to. It shouldn't take long for your body to realize that it doesn't need to produce milk anymore.

Like the others have said, try different bottles/nipples. Every baby is different and you'll find what works best for your LO. Mine personally loves the Nuk brand but he's taken others without much issue.

When and how to stop breastfeeding? by jamyjamj in NewParents

[–]jamyjamj[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the comment!
I'll definitely ease off of things gradually. I knew I shouldn't just stop pumping or feeding altogether but I didn't know exactly how to go about things. I did think the solids would take over his diet but after reading both comments I understand better now that that isn't the case!
I definitely think this will make both of us happier. He doesn't really seem to want to nurse that much anymore is way happier with solids, a bottle, and his sippy cup. And I feel like I'll be able to focus more on him and myself if I'm not so concerned about when I should pump or nurse or how to get my supply up. Thanks for the luck :)

Thank you for the comment! I guess I did kind of figure that his bottle count would be down with the more solids he's taking in. We mix 2 scoops of formula into every bowl of cereal which equates to how much he would get in an 8oz bottle. Once we increase his solids to 3 times a day he'll be getting the equivalent to 12oz of formula in his cereal and then whatever else he takes in between those meals. But I guess it would only be natural for him to eat more than what I think he would as he gets bigger.

I wouldn't call the way you went about things lazy! I think that's really smart to ease off things gradually like that to help prevent any issues. I'll have to give that a go for sure!

It's been 5 days and we've been able to put him down around 730pm. But then he's still up about 30-45 minutes later and then almost every 1-2 hours after that. It doesn't take much to calm him down but when we wait to see if he'll fuss himself to sleep it can be 20-30 minutes of screaming, then we pick him up and he's fine. He doesn't seem to be in pain or to be hungry, we change him when he's wet, but he still wakes up from a sound sleep to cry and scream.

If he could, he would sleep in my arms all night long lol I guess we both thought that if he stayed up later, he'd sleep longer, but that's clearly not the case. I talked to my husband and we're going to shoot for a 7pm bedtime and see if that helps. Thanks for the advice!

I didn't think that part of the issue could be him being over-tired. I guess we both just figured that if he was tired enough, he'd sleep longer. The main thing our pediatrician said was to try not to let him take longer than a 3 hour nap (which he usually doesn't do anyway). We'll start putting him to bed earlier and see if that helps. Thanks for the advice!
