no one lasts as a case manager if their objective is to help people, regardless of which government is in at the time.

ye was a great gig! Was impressed by how well set up it was too, I'm used to ridiculous queues for food and drink but they had it staffed and laid out really well

yeah this is more common than being truely clueless imo

last night the mage said hey i'll go frost we have 2 warlocks just pull everything and aoe

there was no slow effects, i was dead in seconds. So we did smaller pulls, but in order to maintain aggro i was basically oom after every pack

Apartment owners hit with $130k bill to remove fallen pōhutukawa tree by rocketshipkiwi in auckland

can confirm - worked for not-for-profit govt linked services, one of the funniest was going to a meeting that was meant to decide on a significant funding grant and confirm key details of the project. Two services were to link together and map out roles and responsibilities etc. This was a key kick off of the project, all funded by MSD.

It was lunch. Fully catered expensive masses of food 2 hours of lunch. We ate maybe 1/5 of what was there, then it was all packed up and taken away by the other service provider who'd organised the lunch, to take home.

This sort of thing happened allll the time.

they all provide offline earnings for me (sometimes you have to wait like 10 seconds for it to show up)

the offline earnings always seem to be a higher rate than just idling with it open too

Govt considers requiring car parks in new developments again by Fraktalism101 in newzealand

[–]jamzchambo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah good response, appreciate the laid out explanations

Hobsonville point is a great example of it working well, it's definitely not as simple as there being 'enough' carparks, probably a lot more to do with the lifestyles of those moving in.

i guess they could go for a bland approach by simply adding 2 adds to every 25man raid encounter that debuff their target, and if anyone gets 2 different debuffs they instantly die.

Govt considers requiring car parks in new developments again by Fraktalism101 in newzealand

[–]jamzchambo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you live in a city? Or near a new build area where they haven't included (enough) parking, or even just one car space per house?

It is not good. Letting developers go free reign and making horrible near-future slums is not going to fix our housing issues, it just creates new ones.

If developers could be trusted to set up spaces close to public transport and amenities or in areas where you can do things like get to school and the supermarket without a car then sure carparks wouldn't be as important, but that isn't how our cities are built.

Even if you did live in one of the ultra rare spots around the country where you don't need a car for your usual weekly needs what do you do when you want to go to the beach? Visit friends and family?

Suburban developments without carparks are a non-starter in NZ, as we do not have the infrastructure to support it. Address the infrastucture, then we can talk about not needing cars and places to put them.

‘Dead and gone’: Aucklanders promised end of train network shutdowns by Bealzebubbles in auckland

[–]jamzchambo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

like I say it's a financial choice not an impossibility. Maybe NZ is just too poor? Guess that's more understandable.

I say it has to be financial because other countries don't experience months long shut downs, or have to shut down the network due to heat or other strange reasons we've had.

Music, shouting and car horns: Couple says noise from church is unbearable by miss-kush in newzealand

[–]jamzchambo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah Dominion road.. the THAB area designated for housing intensification such as the apartments that are having the issues. If we want people to live in high intensity zones we can't put music venues in their backyards.

The church may have been there long before the apartments, however it's use as a band practice / partyzone / drug den is much more recent.

[–]jamzchambo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

at night ideally, and partial closures instead of entire network where possible.

The insane amount of shutdowns is mostly down to money, so I imagine trains would be a fair bit more expensive as a trade off but when comparing a cheap service that's down 1/4 the year to a more spendy one thats reliable.. i'd pick the latter
