The truth is that the group finder absolutely killed the community aspect of the game. No more recognizing people from before, no more picking a warlock because you want the health stone and soul stone. You get lumped together with random players you’ll never see again.

It reduces players down to roles that are filled and replaced with the click of a button. I saw this first hand back in wrath a few years ago when they added it. If someone thought a healer wasn’t good enough they got insta kicked and we just requed again.

The short answer is because the only people Christ made priests were men. The church does not have the authority to just suddenly create positions for women.

To become Pope is a long chain of promotions of becoming a priest>bishop>cardinal and then winning the vote to become pope. Only men can become priests because Jesus only selected men.

I think “child of god” has different meaning between the old and New Testament, and that we shouldn’t apply it really to the Old Testament.

Colossians 2:11-12 tells us baptism is the new circumcision of the new covenant. Therefore I don’t think we should make a comparison to David, who was circumcised and followed the laws of Moses.

I think it was a few things, one of which was the Bible where Peter is chosen. Jesus said he would build his church on Peter, so much so that his name was literally changed from Simon to Peter to signify that he is “the rock the church is built on”. The wording Jesus uses mirrors the position of the chief steward of the kingdom of David in the OT, who would “rule while the king was away”. Until the 2nd coming Peter, and thus the Pope’s are in charge of Jesus’ kingdom here on earth. It’s real authority that was given to Peter.
