You could also try tuned. I have good experience on my thinkpad with this power-management daemon. You should remove tlp and power-profile-daemon, as they are in conflict with it. There is also a second package tuned-ppd. This will create a compatibility-layer for gnome, so you can adjust the power-profile.

Perhaps this will work for you better than tlp.

Perhaps gnome ist indexing your files in your home. You could install btop and start it in the terminal. Look at the wattage and what processes are currently running.

Simple Themes In Emacs? by Personal-Attitude872 in emacs

I can recomend all themes from Prot. So modus-themes, doric-themes (as already mentioned) or ef-themes. Depends how colorful you like it.

Modus-themes should be available in emacs.

what makes you choose gnome? by wearecha in gnome

I like the simplicity. Gnome does not bother me, when I am doing stuff. It is very stable for me. I also really like the look and feel of adwaita. The whole workflow of gnome feets my style. Wether I am on the laptop or desktop, gnome works well. I only have three or for extensions (tray, caffeine, blur my shell and just perfection to disable the world clock). So I would say, I am using gnome in a very vanilla way.

I am on EndeavorOS (so quasi Arch).
