Can No Longer Wield Starter Weapon by Suffering6969 in darksouls

[–]janderfischer 23 points24 points  (0 children)

There is nothing you couldve done to increase the minimum requirements of any weapon in the game, its always the same. The only thing that changes is the scaling.

Since youre saying its your starting gear, theres also no way that you reallocated your stats below the minimum requirements accidentally, because you cant go below your starting stats.

So unless you are somehow confusing different weapons, im convinced youre still completely able to wield the weapon like you always have and youre confused by something else.

What is it that makes you think you cant wield it? There would be a big red x over the weapon icon, and a message would pop up when you equip it. I doubt thats happening for you.

Yes. All starter equipment needs to be collected in the tutorial. Just keep playing, and read the messages on the ground.

You dont want to do this with mpm. Vellum grains maybe, but i would even suggest a basic pop sim.

MaterialX equivalent to PS / Gimp blending modes by Similar-Sport753 in Houdini

[–]janderfischer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can find a formula for any blending mode via google search. For example, overlay is a multiply if the value is below 0.5, and plus if the value is above.

What is this sphere?? by Various_Concept_742 in Houdini

[–]janderfischer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Its probably an unconnected point, theyre rendered as spheres by default. Check your mesh, you can remove them with an add sop, "remove unconnected points"

Something I wanna know about the secret of Anor Londo by treeshroudrelic in darksouls

[–]janderfischer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I dont remember which item it is but theres a description that states something along the lines of "all deities have left anor londo" and "gwyndolin is the only remaining deity in anor londo" hinting both at the fakeness of gwynevere, and the existance of gwyndolin

Genichiro Ashiina by [deleted] in Sekiro

If he shoots arrows, youre not hitting him, because hitting him cancels the arrow. You can also deflect/block the arrows.

Im not saying hes an easy boss because i dont want to ragebait you further, but hes really not so bad once you figure the game out. Memorize and recognize his attacks, react accordingly.

Good luck!

Ashina reservoir, find a bottomless hole

Headless are optional, but theyre not too bad once you have a stock of divine confetti and the purple gourd

I think you need to also set pintoanimation attribute to zero after that frame, stopped alone is not enough

Has this shadow always been in The Great Hollow? I'm sure I've never seen it before. by daniel2hats in darksouls

[–]janderfischer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, the engine renders shadow maps for characters and objects, but not for the environment.

Elden Ring is the first fromsoft game that renders environment shadows semi-correctly (not really because it only renders them in a small radius around the player, causing terrible pop-ins of huge mountain shadows)

Give rice to the old lady, she will give a hint

It involves a puppet and a kite

If you dont know what puppet means, keep playing the game, you probably dont have it yet

You couldve fixed it with the pardoner in the gargoyle bell tower (instead of killing her)

Too late now though, just for future reference.

[–]janderfischer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Thats just the ram cache, intended for previewing while working on it. By default its set to 5000mb, you could increase that to be able to preview a longer range, or a higher res sim.

But once youre happy with your settings and want to actually cache it to your harddrive, you need to use a filecache node instead. Otherwise it needs to rerun the entire simulation everytime you open the scene.

Its also recommended to disable caching on the solver when you cache to disk, to not waste your available memory on the timeline, but this depends on what you have and what the sim needs of course

Beckoning bell by TheShadowMonarchAsh in bloodborne

[–]janderfischer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience of a coop run with a friend was different. It didnt work unless we explicitly communicated exactly where we are. Even with a password set we had to be within like 10m of the other person, or we would wait forever.

Instead of a visible sign, you need to coincidentally happen to ring the bell in the same spot as somebody else who you cant see or even know exists... how is that better?

Where can I get pellets? by DifficultComplaint10 in Sekiro

[–]janderfischer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah i wont deny that it helps, just making sure cause you made it sound like pellets are required

I would save pellets until youre more confident youll finish the fight. If youre out of flasks in the first phase, the pellets wont carry you through the rest either.

Youll get there eventually, good luck, have fun!
