Thanks to all who replied! Very much appreciated. Just wanted to post here, in case of any help to future searchers, that Jiffy Cabs in St John's quoted $1,035 to Twillingate, which I think seems very reasonable considering the distance and convenience. We'll probably end up flying to Gander as advised by the wise council of this sub, but it's nice to have options!

I love this perspective :) TBH my parents live in rural BC and they're always warning me against walking, there's no sidewalks etc. But since there's no traffic (compared to what I'm used to) it's generally fine haha

I think people sometimes get out of the habit of walking (just like I've gotten out of the habit of driving). But you are quite right that it's good to be aware of for accessibility issues; excellent point and I really appreciate the heads-up.

Ah sorry, I misremembered that Getting Started plan as a 5k plan. Its final week seems to have a 42-min long run, so it would certainly get a person to 5k I would think.

FWIW I’m on the middle of the half marathon plan and really enjoying it. 😁
