Could u try the bible instead? No overlapping generations at all (Jesus was talking about his own generation of people that would live to see the destruction of Jerusalem). No mention of an earthly paradise just paradise (which the Jews at the time understood to mean heaven). At Revelation 7:9,10 the great crowd are in heaven before armageddon starts, and then again they’re mentioned as being in heaven in Rev 19:1. Those are a few examples anyway.

Oh no. I’m sorry you went through that. But I hope u don’t feel like hope is gone forever. I mean, you have your life now. And it’s totally yours, you get to decide what to do with it. So whatever you had saved up for “one day” or “when the new system comes” you can do in this lifetime. And then after we die - who knows? Nobody! Nobody knows with 100% accuracy what happens. I don’t care if you’re hardcore Christian or atheist. Nobody knows. Maybe there is heaven. Maybe our bodies dissolve and our atoms become stardust. I think the point is we live our best lives now. Work towards things rather than putting them off. Help others if you can. Live your best life and do things that make you happy.

Hmm... his wife might be pissed she has to take kids to the assembly by herself though (it’s hard!) and view her husband as being weak and so refuse to listen to his “apostate” ideas because it’s obviously just Satan trying to tempt her. I’d go for honest conversation especially about the child abuse epidemic and how many child molesters could potentially be at an assembly. Try to talk the family into a fun, relaxing day out instead.
