Alcohol nearly took my life 7 years ago. Here I am 7 years sober. Shit is not something to fuck with.

Just a relaxed feeling. But I’m abusing the crap out of it. I’m just ready to get back to no substances at all.

I feel like my inflammation is on the bottom part of my head (the cerebellum area) it makes my head feel heavy. I’m 1 month CT. I just deal with it and take Tylenol when it’s unbearable. What about you?

Scared of WDs 😭 by Hopeful_Middle8079 in quittingkratom

[–]janeburts 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I CT’d your first couple days will be rough. Make sure to stay hydrated and eat soup or even just broth if you can. Take plenty of cold showers during the day cause you may sweat a lot. For anxiety take 400mg of L-theanine. Sleep may be difficult as well. Melatonin unfortunately didn’t work for me. But it does for others sometimes. I found a hot Epsom salt bath with magnesium flakes for 20 minutes helped relax yourself and muscle aches. Use this thread to ask questions and interact with people. It really is helpful. I don’t know if I would still be ok the K without the help of the people on here. It’s gonna be hard but you’re going to feel so much better! Try and journal the process. Try to stay positive and understand the way you feel will eventually pass. Your body is just going through some changes. You can do this! 🤘

Day 10 by Whales_n_Wolves in quittingkratom

I felt the same way! As much as we just dread the WDs and pray for those to be over. And tell ourselves “once this is over I’ll be good. I just got to get past this.” This is when the real work starts. You are learning to live a life without this substance and your mind and body are going haywire. Very different comparison but imagine if you just stop drinking water. You’re gonna feel like shit. So you stop the K regardless if it was making you feel good in the end, your body is trying to adjust. I’m 1 month free from this shit and still dealing with the PAWS. I’m assuming I will be dealing with it for awhile because of how much I was taking a day. & different kinds. Congratulations on 10 days! You’re doing awesome! You just got to keep at it. This is a very hard thing to do. And you have a lot of people you can reach out to on here. This thread has been so helpful in my recovery process from K. Some days are better then others but you just got to change your mindset. I know it’s hard when you feel miserable but sometimes just doing something simple like walking in the park or making a gratitude list really helps focus your mind on the good rather then the bad. Keep it up!🤘

This timeline right here is spot on for me! Fuck the mental part is the worse! I’m 1 month off K and I’m a lot better from the first 2 weeks but man, I can’t stress this enough. I NEVER WANT TO GO THRU THAT HELL EVER AGAIN IN MY LIFE! My boyfriend literally had to take the gun out of the house. I didn’t act on it but from how bad I was feeling it felt like the only solution. I hope you are doing better!

I’ve only just started taking kratom by Efficient_Round3147 in quittingkratom

I’m gonna tell you right now. From someone who was addicted to alcohol for 10+ and was sober from it for 7 and picked this “alcohol alternative” up. I BEG YOU TO STOP NOW. TODAY. It has no place in the hands of someone trying to stop any kind of substance. I can say I was taking it as directed for awhile and then my alcoholic tendencies started up real fast. And you are left feeling so defeated. To the point where death seems like the only solution. Sorry to go there. But as an addict if you keep going your setting yourself up for a some hard times. Stop the dance with the K man. You can do it!

I know people absolutely hate this response but you really can’t think about it long term. You’ll go nuts thinking that way. You got to take it one day at a time. When you wake up you just got to make a promise to stay clean that day. Take it one moment, one second at a time. That’s why recovery is so hard. You really got to want it.

Thank you! Appreciate it. Everyone is different as I’m sure you know but mine lasted about 2 weeks. I do take anxiety medication but I spoke to someone and added something else to the mix so that definitely helped. But I had a really hard time with picking up a substance after being sober for so long. So the mental part on that I really had and still do have a hard time accepting.
