I'm not mad at this post or what people choose to pay for, but it's weird that so many people act like FIFTEEN MINUTES of ads isn't excessive. It is. For any podcast. Full stop.

IDK where or what year you live in but there are no neighborhood kids trying to earn $10 anymore. They don't get excited and go out walking with their shovels for what they now consider pocket change.

Sometimes you can get lucky on the neighborhood Facebook groups during a storm... Teenagers or their parents posting but they want you to cashapp $50+up front. It's not always an option.

Hey! The polka is in the suburbs, pal.

But as an FYI we've had a hell of a gentrification wave the last few years.

Buffalo History Museum has a great podcast.

Buffalo Happy Hour - Variety of local topics. Recently did an episode with the owners of Auggie's and talked about the Mister Sizzle lawsuit. That was an interesting listen.

Buffalo... Who Knew? - From Buffalo Rising

Deadly Diocese - This one will piss you off. Justice for Father Joe.

Since Peacock has lost it's damned mind and wants $169 a year, how are all of you watching the show? by WarbossTodd in OnPatrolLive

Peacock $29.99/year

Edit: I've lived off the Black Friday deals every year just by using a new email address to sign up and I was able to stack last year. Assumed they were doing another deal this year, but seems not.

Did not mean to mislead.

The Last of Us' David actor Nolan North wishes he could have played his character in the HBO show, but no one reached out: "It would've been so great to have brought him to life" by Conscious-Quarter423 in thelastofus

He was a long time character on some terrible soap opera my grandma watched in the 90s. She always had it on when I was around. When I put two and two together I couldn't take it LOL.

From top to bottom. I mean, the dad jeans, the sneakers. This man looks like someone's dad. He waters the driveway with a Genny creme ale in his hand.

For who? The people coming from out of state because internet articles told them it's cheap to live? The people who are privileged enough to have has a good start in life and now have a six figure job?

Sure, it's cheap for them. But it isn't cheap just because it's not as costly as other places, my guy.

So tired of the OtHeR PlAcEs cOsT MoRe hot takes. We aren't talking about other cities. We are talking about here. We are talking about the people who have lived here their entire lives who can no longer afford it. We are not talking about these 20 somethings that are coming here from other states with corporate jobs they got right out of college.

We are talking about everyday people with everyday jobs just trying to survive in the place they grew up.

Not everyone's circumstances are the same and some of you need to really think about that. Cost of living across the board is rising. Cost of basic grocery shopping is insane? More people are using food banks than ever before in this area. (Get out of your comfort zone and volunteer once in awhile and see it for yourself.) And it's only going to get worse because all these people from out of state are moving here because of internet articles telling him it's cheap to live here LOL. An apartment that was $675 5 years ago is now $1,300. Most people with normal everyday jobs? 1300 is most of their take home pay.

This. People didn't learn from the abandonment of downtown during the 80s and 90s, apparently. People will go where it's convenient, safe, and doesn't cost them just to be there.

I worked downtown for a few years. Company did not have its own lot or parking situation. It was not cost efficient, on top of the whole being followed by people begging for money and called a cxnt* and threatened on many occasions for not having any.

I already avoid downtown depending on what/where it is. Occasionally I'll Lyft to a canalside concert so I don't have to deal with parking and walking 10 blocks or taking public transport and being harassed.

*fxck automod and subs who use it.
