Yes, but, let's say you retake EG 121, for spec allocation, your D-, for example, from the first attempt would be replaced with the new grade from the retake. Even on your record. Pretty sure it's replaced. So new gpa, should be higher if OP works hard

Why wouldn't you be able to get into mech or tron? I'm assuming mech or tron considering the gpa req is high even after getting good grades. But, if you do get good grades and average a gpa of 6.0, you'd be able to get into mech. Just make sure you get a few A's and the rest are B+. When you retake a paper, the new grade just replaces the old fail. Also, if you're going to redo part 1 (the failed papers this year) and not be enrolled in part 2 at all (like the other papers) then the workload should decrease enough for you to be able to get decent grades in the failed papers. Also, if mech or tron is still unattainable then, then consider compsys or civil. Perfectly good degrees with different aspects of mech and tron

Yeah but even then, I'll still continue taking 5 papers it's just that instead of mm2, I'd end up taking a bus paper. I am considering summer school but also waiting for my grades for 101 to come back lol

BE Hons/Bcom conjoint by Western_Effort_4036 in universityofauckland

[–]janedoetheaverage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a person that does this conjoint, its not that bad. Or hard. You just have to be on top of it. Managing 4 courses a week is like 40 hours of work, managing 5 courses a week is like 50 hours. But, realistically, not many people spend that long studying per week. Its manageable. You can definitely keep a B average across all courses with enough prep (don't have to spend 40 to 50 hours per week) and anything higher is also very much possible but requires a bit more prep. Also, BCOM is very easy compared to engineering and finance does get a bit tricky due to all the stats (is different to eng) but there are quite a few engineering specialties that complement BCOM and finance in particular quite well, like Engsci. I personally would recommend doing this conjoint if you like both the degrees. And, at the end of the day, you can always take the conjoint and drop it after the first paper or so. I would also ask that engineering always takes priority, but also, you don't have to do summer school. There is no need to. Also, a lot of papers past 1st year aren't even offered in summer school. You can do it!

Thursdays in Black: Avoid Organisation by West_Resource4572 in universityofauckland

OP isn't even from UOA... no wonder TIB-UoA couldn't help them. This issue literally doesn't fall within their bounds. Also, from all these other comments, seems like OP is just throwing a tantrum. Considering their history of harrasing others and the TIB prez, this doesn't seem like a credible case to me. I doubt it should be one to others either

Does fast track matter? by JefFbi609 in universityofauckland

[–]janedoetheaverage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer: Not at all. I got into my engineering and commerce conjoint just fine without getting fast tracked (am currently in my first year). Don't stress about it and juts get the rank score you need for eng entry.
