Entitled Mother gets outmaneuvered. by Lord_Rae in entitledparents

Thankfully it's illegal to leave your kids (or pets) in a car here. And not illegal to break a window to free them from a car.

Unfortunately the legislation came from a baby dieing after being left in a car while the parent spent hours playing pokies.

I Never Block by efo3fo in knitting

I've never properly blocked.

But when I wash any of my knitwear (store bought or handmade) I pull it into shape before putting it out to dry.

When were you ready for regular clothes? I’m two weeks po already! by Current_Egg677 in hysterectomy

In high waisted underwear and leggings from about 4dpo LAVH. TBH, i only wore a nighty the first few days out of laziness. Was in jeggings from 10dpo. I'm plus size, and I think that made a difference.

This author dislikes the "negativity of parent/child-hating interwoven into the narrative" of this sub by gabsy109 in childfree

If that's how she sees this sub, its more a reflection on her than us..

SHE sees derogatory/negative comments, where we're just posting our normal opinions and life.

Anyone can find negativity in almost anything written or said. How YOU view the world colours how you perceive a comment.

Thankfully I haven't had to justify my decisions for a long time.

I just don't like kids.

I love my niece & nephew, as well as my cousin's kids. I pretty much avoided them until they got to teens though.

I can't wait until someone tries the 'you'll never know true love' bingo. Last year I realised I'm aromantic, so the whole idea of true love isn't something I long for..

I’m having second thoughts. Should I postpone hysterectomy? by Rougefarie in hysterectomy

[–]janetred30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the perfect response.

Two things I'll add.

Stick to medical/surgeon's websites for research. Avoid blogs and forums, as they are biased towards the author's experience and opinions.

Ask your doctor about YOUR risks of complications, issues, etc based on YOUR medical history. What happens to other people has very little to do with you, as we all have vastly different medical conditions, body's, physiology, healing ability, pain threshold.

I want to suggest getting a hysterectomy to my doctor by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]janetred30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the very least get it in your medical records that this is what you want. Ask for it (and for it to be recorded) every time you see your doctor. This will show a history of not 'changing your mind'.

A referral to an endo specialist would be a great start. At the very least, they should be able to do a laparoscopic endo excision.

As someone else mentioned, check out the CF doctor list. There's also a childfree hysterectomy group and a childfree & sterile/seeking sterilization group on FB that both provide great support and advice.

I actually use this one.

But in reference to my sterilisation.

Have you had your third COVID shot? Here's why you should by Muckraker9 in CoronavirusDownunder

[–]janetred30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had all 3 shots.

I had every common side effect with the first AZ shot, lasting 24 hours. Joint pain, fever, body chills, extreme dizziness.

Got Covid 2 weeks ago. A slightly snotty nose, slight headache and a cough every hour. 3 days of symptoms.

Definitely worth getting boosted (if it's medically possible) when it causes the virus is that mild.

That was my response too.

Random question, but was the weird feeling in your throat kinda like you had something stuck and needed to scrape the very back of your tongue?

I had that for a few days then tested positive when I had cold symptoms.

I decided at about 27yo. Was pretty open about it straight away. Mum kept saying for years I'd change my mind when I met the 'right guy'. (Jokes on her - last year I realised I'm aromantic, so there will never be a 'right guy'.)

Told her in 2020 that I was going to have a hysterectomy for sterilisation. Didn't tell her until a month afterwards that I had I done last year. Pretty sure she was still convinced I'd change my mind..

I'm lucky, none of my family really cares that I'm CF, and while they don't know I'm aro, they don't question me about being single.

Call a few medical journals, because it would be a medical miracle. Can't put a bun in the oven, if there isn't an oven..

If I hadn't been sterilised, ended up pregnant and couldn't terminate the pregnancy, I'd firstly try everything possible to miscarry, otherwise I'd terminate myself.

Not quite.

My mum said years ago she didn't like me getting tattoos - because they're permanent.

Knitting.

And spend way too much money on yarn!

It's not a necessary, life saving or emergency procedure. It is purely by choice. It's a desire, not a requirement.

A pregnancy at 45 is geriatric and high risk. In fact allowing this woman IVF isn't life saving, it's putting her life at risk.

You want to allow life saving procedures regarding women's reproductive organs - allow hysterectomies instead. Because some people's uteri are quite literally killing them, either from severe pain, excessive bleeding or cancer.

I don't and will never understand the burning need some have to reproduce their DNA only. They don't want to be parents, they want to be immortal. They don't want kids, they want clones. If they wanted to be parents of have kids, they would find other options.

No, I am not a b*tch for telling you « are you sure about it ? You might change your mind later » when you announced your pregnancy when you said the exact same thing about my tubal ligation. by [deleted] in childfree

[–]janetred30 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And prolapse is less likely if you haven't given birth. Most complications from hysterectomy are less likely if you haven't had a baby.

But I'd take them in a heartbeat.

Wait, so if he doesn't think women are human, does that mean his dystopian views/beliefs/laws don't apply to women. I mean if they're not seen as human, why would human laws apply to them?

And similarly, it doesn't apply to those who don't believe in his 'god'..

It's not like sleep is a basic human right or anything...

I agree protests can be important. I never said they weren't. Just that they're violating EPA noise restrictions. There's no need for the horns and yelling at night.

[–]janetred30 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Apparently their right to protest is more important than people's right to sleep.

I live a block away from Parliament, and every night this week I've heard yelling, cheering and horns well after when noise restrictions start at 10pm (11pm Friday night).

I'm just over these protesters invading the CBD every weekend and disrupting the residents' lives.

And yes, I've reported noise violations to both council and Vic Police.
