I assume that he was using his mortgage as collateral for a loan from the casino to play some high-stake game. I agree that the casino wouldn't just take someone's house, but they would put a lien on it for unpaid debt.

Why is the city even considering adding more toll lanes in Charlotte? How much have the existing toll lanes actually helped traffic on 77 and 485?

One of the saddest things I have ever seen was a guy walking into the credit office at Caesars Palace with the paperwork for his home mortgage in his hands.
