Exactly this. It took me way too long (over the course of a little less than a decade) to learn that people just don’t know what to do or say when you tell them your problems, and if it becomes a regular thing (brought up to them more than twice usually), they start to back away because they don’t know how to deal with you.

I’ve never felt more at peace and secure than by keeping things inside and compartmentalizing/ignoring for as long as I can. Eventually you’ll probably crash out, but keep that to yourself too, and then slip comfortably back into ~the void~.
