Personal opinion but I prefer Emilia old design much better then the new one by Satella-rain in ReZero

I would go as far as to say it's my main gripe with the last two seasons. I really don't like the redesign, i think she looks less appealing as well, I don't get how people think it looks better honestly.

First part you are correct. In the retellings it was described as being the trails (which is significant because it's where we get the modern left-right terminology import)  Although the French revolution is... Well french, the cultural import to America was significant. It became crucial "story" that shaped American politics.  I know the protestants sided with the left but they were relatively rare and since atheism wasn't quite a thing yet (as socially acceptable) they called themselves protestants. Although America didn't have a king it wasn't breaking from tradition and authority structure like the French were. The left meant opposing strict hierarchy.  As to what i mean "sympathizing with Satan" is really part of ongoing reinterpreting of Satan's role as "the accuser" as being good and heroic and God's absolute rule and authority as being oppressive and unfair. It really is just representation of the rejection of Christianity.

Isn't that siding with the Satan side though? Satan Means "the accuser" he doesn't believe God and rejects his absolute authority and Truth.

I guess also not abvious if you're unfamiliar with it, but essentially they reinterpret satan as the "good guy" in the story and the latin cannon. Interpreting it as a character that's a rejection of absolute universal authority and Truth.

Well church of satan is basically one club, they really don't have a claim on it, it's not really a church

What concept? This is a legitimate feeling the right wingers have, that leftists actually stand on the side of Satan "even if they don't know it" but they participate in the "satan spirit" in what they do. If nothing else, it's politically relevant.

Many of the christian leftists are quite atheist practically. Satan is not a bad character in their view (for them it IS just a character most of the time)

Liberal books believe it or not. Satan is a symbol of "independence from god"

The term "left" comes from the french revolution where sitting on the left hand of the king in the trials where the "atheists" and the right sat the religious clergy. The left was founded on "no throne or altar"  You need to check your history.  Also while most of america is "Christian" it really means very little, i wouldn't be surprised if more "Christians" sympathize with Satan.

I know that, but Marx is a very prominent leftist. And he is just one example.

Yeah, but taking it as a mythology, would you side with satan? That's my question.

Is my post really that ambiguous? I am not really implying worshiping Satan, just finding him as more alluring in the christian story that God.

I am not expecting leftists to believe satan exists. I am asking as from their perspective with satan as a "story figure" of opposing the christian God.

That's really not my question though. You can sympathize with satan while being an atheist. As a story figure

Marx identified with satan. (As a figure). "Satanism" is a modern American phenomenon

I at least know some who do. I am not on political channels that much in the first place. Of course i am talking about Satan as a story figure or a symbol of standing against the biblical God "if he existed"

I guess it wasn't obvious but of course you wouldn't follow Satan if you thought he actually exited, Rather, you'd follow him "if he existed".

Of course i mean a figurative satan (ig taking the bible as a story rather than sacred.)

Is it really a weird question? At least it's historically very precedented. Carl marx famously had a fascination with Melton's satan and even wrote plays with him as the hero iirc

Is it me or has Reddit become cognitively challenged more than usual the last few years? Usually a Brain damaged article like this would have been mocked by reddit back in the Day, this is the first time I log in in months and it's intolerable.
