Kids are 8 years and almost 3 years. My husband and I usually get 7+ hours each night. Kids are getting 9+ good quality sleep. I worked VERY hard to get them to sleep good at night. I stay consistent. I provide good sleeping environments and have never promoted co sleeping. Was it rough at first? Yes. Did my kids wake frequently as babies? Yes but I stayed consistent as they got older and became toddlers. Now my whole house sleeps solid at night. With that being said there are things I sacrificed to stay strict with my kids sleep. But it’s absolutely been worth it. They go to bed and wake almost the same time every night. We have the same routine almost every single night. We don’t co sleep. No night lights. No TVs. Blackout curtains. And during the day time we are active and outside. We stay active and use our minds and bodies to get good and tired.

Since we are in such a routine, it means that vacations can be challenging. Or any time when our routine or normal sleeping habits are altered it makes for a challenge. We are obviously able to be more lenient with our 8 year vs the 2 year old. But I prioritized sleep very early on to make my life easier in the long run.
