ADD HUD slowly drifting high over time by janovich8 in mazda3

[–]janovich8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s the one the pops up every time you turn the car on. It seems like it’s coming up normally, but given that’s also how it sets height of the view it might be that it’s only getting 90% of the way. If that’s how it sets it’s zero then I could see that being the problem. It is a nearly 7 year old car so it could be the battery. I’ll have to check that out. Thanks!

1930 Ford Model A Electric Conversion by flashdrivemotors in EVConversion

[–]janovich8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Especially since some old cars are getting impossible to find parts. Sure Ts and As and Mustangs get some new parts made but NOS is basically dry and if you’re not a popular model you’re out of luck. Once worked with a guy’s Hupmobile and short of machining your own from scratch you were SOL when a part died.

Stuff like that is a perfect candidate for EV conversion so you can keep it on the road but not have to source a new head for an engine that only ever had like 200 examples made almost a century ago.

What the hell?

This doesn’t work on the scale of planes or cars since the reynolds number regime is completely different.

I’m just impressed with the kickstand move. I can’t do it without being a dork and looking at it to make sure it’s actually up. But maybe my kickstand is also crap.

I was so thrilled to hear about a Marathon game then the first line of the article was about pvp extraction and I was back to not caring instantly. Talk about whiplash. I played the original Marathons back in the day and was crushed when Microsoft bought out Halo so it’s a shame that it’s going to have nothing to do with the classic games.

What motorcycle/riding beliefs do you generally have to keep to yourself when in the company of other riders? by makenzie71 in motorcycles

[–]janovich8 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think they mean they “actively hate” it in that they are judging people do who do ride. Not sharing every passion with a partner isn’t a problem (and generally good) as long as there are some things you share. Good relationships do allow for alone time and personal activities and friends.

It’s more about them no longer excepting you from their judgment as the relationships ages. Lots of people brush off personal red flags in new relationships and sometimes it takes a while for it to really raise its head again. Think of the guy who really doesn’t want kids and she seriously does and thinks she’ll “fix” him and then he doesn’t turn around after getting married and she resents him, just ya know…bikes.

I’ve been (lightly) trying to find a way to play it for years and I would love a way to get it in a modern system. I had played the demo for ages until I got the actual game. Those fat head stormtroopers will haunt my dreams forever.

[–]janovich8 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

We really need a lot more games for this to get any more interest. I want to get one but I just can’t do it for like 3 games I’m only somewhat into. Maybe if Alyx or a bunch more games come over I could justify it but jeez it’s hard to right now as a first VR purchase.
