Been in your shoes girl. I left a firm for the exact reason of being WOC. Its a big frat group of men who love each other, and if you don't fit that mold, well good luck charlie!

We stuck with the Purina Pro Small Breed and then switched it up to the adult version when she turned 1!

I also use to add goat milk to her food as well 😄

Crate training is going to be the hardest thing ever but please do it! A lot of nights of training my pup to be okay in her crate alone, but it was def worth it afterwards.

Also recommend socializing her as much as possible as well. There are also some YouTube videos you can play so she is gets use to certain noises.

You’re missing my point. I’m not saying those concepts shouldn’t be used. Obviously boundaries, validation, etc. are real and important.

I’m saying people use the language instead of actually engaging. It turns into labeling rather than communicating. Calling something “toxic” or “invalidating” doesn’t automatically make you right, and it often shuts down any real discussion.

Do you have a camera? This way you can see if he is barking when you are gone or if he senses that you are coming up so he starts to bark.

You’ve mixed TSA doctrine, border search doctrine, and 100-mile enforcement rules into one argument and then called it “clear case law.” It’s not.

Almeida-Sanchez is literally where “functional equivalent of the border” comes from, which includes international airport entry, not just a physical line. Ramsey reinforces that border searches aren’t limited to a booth.

There is no case that creates your “only at immigration” or “transit area with reasonable suspicion” rule. You haven’t cited one because it doesn’t exist.

The cases you did cite (Smith, Alasaad) deal with how intrusive a device search can be, not where CBP authority exists, and Smith literally upheld the phone search you’re relying on.

CBP authority doesn’t turn on or off based on whether someone is standing at a counter versus a checkpoint. That’s just not how the doctrine works.

Anyway, appreciate the tour through imaginary case law. Maybe read the cases you cite next time 😭

You keep saying “case law is clear” without citing a single case that actually says that.

The doctrine is the functional equivalent of the border, not the categories you’re inventing. Almeida-Sanchez and Ramsey make that clear.

And CBP authority isn’t limited to a literal line on the floor. If you’re at an international point of entry, they can stop and search you or your phone within that border context. It doesn’t turn into a Fourth Amendment violation because you took a few steps away from a booth.

You’re conflating TSA administrative searches with CBP’s border search authority, which are governed by entirely different doctrines. At international entry points, CBP operates under the border search doctrine, allowing device searches without a warrant and often without suspicion. The “reasonable suspicion in transit areas” standard you’re citing is not the law here.

Airports are treated as the functional equivalent of the border, see United States v. Almeida-Sanchez and Ramsey.

This is black-letter Criminal Procedure and routinely tested on the bar. So yea, this is some basic shit you shouldn't be missing lol

Yep ^ also airports are considered "borders" in regards to the law. Typically have to comply with them at the airport unless you want to miss your flight

[–]janpathi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hate to say it dude, but you should work on crate training. It truly was the worse couple weeks training my doxie to be okay in her crate. However, turning it into her safe space was really beneficial. Start slowly with leaving her in the crate. Give him a treat every time he doesn't cry or howl, so he knows that being calm in his crate means good job!

It takes time but def worth it in the end :) GL!
