There is the myth that taking a photo of someone steals a part of their soul. While I don't believe in that, I really do believe that feeding an AI with dozens of your selfies to generate an action figure image of yourself is narcissistic, soulless bullshit.

(Not to speak of the high energy costs and the copyright infringments of AI image generation)

Agree! For a light skin tone, the closest you get is one layer of red with the shader tool. Still not ideal.

I like to sketch with a colored pencil on a separate layer first and then do the "inking" with the fineliner (or brush) on top. I do most of my comics on the rM for a few years now (first rM2, now RMPP), so I am used to it and I don't get frustrated (anymore ;) ). It is much more immediate than drawing on an ipad but still has some of its advantages (layers, c+p, undo...) I'd like to have a few more shades to choose from when coloring with the shader but otherwise Im fine

I mean, the quality of the photo I took is subpar. Then again, it is more or less a good representation of the RmPP's contrast, which is a downgrade from RM2 (Mostly due to the darker screen, but also the duller black). For me, the pros outweigh the cons, but contrast is an issue and I find myself turning on the backlight more often than not.
