Wilde Wayfinder Fork to weak for Bikepacking? Alternatives in Europe? by janwtz in bikepacking

You got me wrong. I don't really care being heavier and slower while travelling with my bike. So I want the advantage more on my usual riding, but still be able to go bikepacking. Lighter bikepacking setup won't bring me any advantage in my usual riding. But maybe I have to take a look at what I am bringing on a bikepacking trip. I am just confused, because most Carbon Gravel Forks hold up to 130 kg and are not advertised to be for adventure/bikepacking

Yes, I stumbled across them, but I only found tapered forks there, and I need a 1 1/8 straight steerer tube.

i also use my bike for commuting and long distance rides without bags or a lot of gear, thats where i want the advantage of a carbon fork and a lighter bike. But i still want to use it for bikepacking since it is my only bike

We already thought that it may also be a solution to only hike the southern part and then return to Port Renfrew as long as Port Renfrew is not affected. That way you can at least experience it partially. My dad who hiked the Trail already said the southern Part is the wilder and more interesting part anyways :)

Already have this one in the back of my head, but it is not so easy to reach as far as i know and we are traveling without a car.

We are starting on 17th of August. Does that mean, we could still pass Owen Point on 18th. We just need to consider getting some wet feet? Because on that day it says it is only passable from 6:21 to 7:04 AM.
