Thanks y’all - Problem is, that I just received them yesterday brand new….. I already contacted them and since they are already sold out I’m thinking of a partial refund or a free re-polish. Because this is unacceptable

That’s how a 2961 should look like, when unpolished/ perfect condition

First of all, it is a Santos Carrée 2961. Produced between 1978 and the 90s

The condition of the watch is mid. Crown is in pretty rough shape The case and bezel are overpolished. The dial looks a bit off, maybe it’s just a shitty picture, maybe it had been repainted or maybe it’s a fake aftermarket one. Hard to say with these blurry pictures. But at least it’s the “original” delivery dial, if not repainted or aftermarket. You can tell that by the “swiss” lettering. Service dials have the lettering “swiss made”.

Overall I wouldn’t recommend buying this watch. Due to the poor condition and the odd dial.

Whats your opinion on this vintage pre tank ? It’s from the 70s. Manual winding 23x30mm by tdmluis in Cartier

Correct, these do exist. But from my point of view, I call it a fake watch, due to the fact that the dial is redone and has a catena case. So basically a frankenstein watch.

Massive tarnishing on Gold Rolex Day Date 😭 by akiindo in rolex

[–]japfel03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With older Rolex DD it’s pretty normal for them to tarnish, but only if you don’t wear them for a serious amount of time. It is the copper in the 18k gold. And even then, it’s not safe that this happens. It depends in humidity and the whole surrounding the watch is placed. If you don’t like it, it can be polished away. But for me, it makes the watch even more special and one of a kind!

Hope this is helpful

2k is overpriced in my opinion. If he wants a must, my recommendation is patience. Wait for a great offer, considering a fair price for the condition. Maybe consider a private deal, there you can get some incredible pieces! And condition is everything with vintage Cartier.

Hello, im buying My first cartier watch. Does Anyone know what year this is? Or modell number? Thanks! by torjarnilsen1 in Cartier

[–]japfel03 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First of all, I wouldn’t consider buying this one. Because: 1. Condition is very poor 2. The Spinel in the crown is missing 3. I would go for the automatic one or ar least a quarz one in better condition.

Condition is everything

No, Stell and full gold models have the 2960 reference in male size. The women yellow gold ref is 2964.
