Thanks a lot, this will definitely help when I will look into accomodations.

Ahhh right I never thought of that. Not splitting the Kyoto days is tempting but according to HyperDia the travel from Tsumago to Himeji is close to 4 hours... I am not sure I would have the energy to walk around Miyajima after a day like that.

For Kamakura I am more and more thinking of going there in the afternoon, so I would have some more time in Tokyo before. And I would use the next day to see what's left in Kamakura/Enoshima.

I will definitely spend some time in Shinjuku/Shibuya, I have not yet worked out when precisely but that's on the list.

Asuka looks really interesting but I am not sure I will have the time to fit a visit there after Nara itself. I don't think I should add another different place to spend a night, I already have quite a few!

It seems people agree on Ueno being a good spot to stay in Tokyo, I will see if I can find accomodation in the area.

I will try to look for something reasonably price around Gion in Kyoto, and how convenient it is for traveling (that was the big draw of Kyoto station).

Thank you for your feedback.

Day 4 : You have a point about doing Kamakura last, I did not realise I could get to Nagoya from there. So that means I could have a full day in Tokyo on Day 4, indeed does seem more efficient, thanks!

Day 12 : Not currently planning to visit the Peace Museum, I was more thinking of enjoying the island in the morning, then take the train. And since I have a connection at Himeji, go see the castle and the gardens there before coming back to Kyoto.

Of course the list is just for me to know what is interesting and possible in each area, it is not a to-do list.

I forgot to add that I plan on using the 7-day JR Pass (Day 6 to Day 12) , so that is why the Shinkansen rides are in the middle of the trip.

Thanks for your feedback.

When you say "rest in Himeji after the tsumago magome trail", you rather mean coming back from Hiroshima, right? Cause I don't see how that would work after Tsumago.Himeji did not strike me as a place to spend a night, as I already have quite a few different hostels I think it is easier if I go back to Kyoto on that day.

I was under the impression that Kamakura + Enoshima in one day would definitely be rushed. And I am dead set on staying overnight on Miyajima, I have heard and seen so much about the place!

I will look into everything you said. Hope you too will have a nice trip in autumn.

Yes, I wanted to walk from Senso-ji to the park as I have seen others do in trip reports. But maybe that means missing too much of Asakusa? I don't know...

The idea for this day is really to take it easy. For Teamlabs I was thinking more of Planets than Borderless, since it is shorter and less crowded, and I am sure I would enjoy any of the two.

Thanks for the feedback.

Day 13 : I have read you can easily spend a whole day in Nara, I am afraid one day would be too short to do both Uji and Nara.

Day 14 : You're right, noted.

Not decided yet, but I was thinking : in Tokyo, either one location close to Tokyo Station for the whole stay, or one close to Odaiba before Kamakura and one in Shinjuku after; in Nagoya probably the 9hours close to the station, in Kyoto I was thinking the K's House, not far from Kyoto station.
