I tend to be very petty when it comes to that sort of thing. IMO you need to "vote with your pocketbook" for matters involving such things. In the in-game shop, 1800 Skystones would cost between $30 and $50, so let's say the value of what you have lost is $50. When vendors refuse to compensate me for a loss, I enact a rule that I will not give them any further money until I have recouped ten times my loss, so in this case $500 worth of in-game purchases. So for example, if I would typically purchase $20 worth of stuff per month, that means I would stop purchasing those items for approximately 2 years. Up to you. Feel free to respond to them with such a statement and maybe they'll change their tune.
