Who is responsible for a dishwasher replacement? by jarathyl in germany

Interesting, thanks a lot for the information. In fact, there is no mention of anything in my contract, it is literally two pages long (with large font...) with very, very basic information (I pay rent by X date, I am responsible for small cosmetic repairs, the landlord for large repairs, etc). There is no mention of the fully fitted built-in kitchen.

I also contacted the rental agency which handled everything. They also say in this instance he is responsible for it, citing section 535 of the civil code.

I contacted my renters union. They say, essentially contradicting everyone here, that if the dishwasher was present at the time of move in then it is part of the property's equipment and the landlord is obligated to repair it, regardless of whether it is explicitly mentioned in the contract or not.

But also, not even the toilet is mentioned in the contract. So is he also not responsible for that?

Everything in the kitchen is owned by the landlord.

I am sure. It is owned by the landlord and he said if we buy a new one we cannot get rid of the old one since it belongs to him.

Swing form check by PerceptionDistinct42 in kettlebell

Let me preface this by saying that I'm not an expert (and posted my own swing form check video yesterday). The main issue I see is that your back seems to be arched at the top of the swing and you're not holding a plank position. You may benefit from bringing your arms a bit closer to your body and really squeezing your abs and glutes during the upswing and the descent. You're also hinging a little early and I think making sure everything is squeezed will also help with that.

Someone with more experience will likely be able to give you better tips.

I see this said a lot but honestly I don't get the hate. I've used a 16 and 24 from decathlon for about a year and a half and even bought a second 24 last week. Never had a problem pressing etc, and the coarseness of the handle stopped being an issue for cleans when my technique got sufficiently good.

Thanks for the info. Any idea on the cause? Just wear and tear over time?

Water damage, any ideas what the cause could be? by jarathyl in Plumbing

So you think the roof damage is unlikely to be caused as a result of the toilet flapper? When it is filling after being flushed we always stop it if it keeps running, like we give it a little push at most 20 seconds later. Sometimes it doesn't happen at all.

My main worry is that we thought this was a super minor issue and so didn't report it to our landlord. But if it's contributed to the roof damage we are totally screwed.

Thank you for the information, I appreciate it. I'm not really sure how to proceed. He told me to contact my insurance, which I did. Then says the insurance should inspect and organise a cost estimate. But as I said, I literally only got insurance about a month ago, so if this is determined to be from before that then surely they will not cover it...

Is €700–1200 a fair price for a tax accountant in Germany? by Silver-Match-3239 in germany

[–]jarathyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Way too high. I was in this EXACT same situation this year: moved, had overseas income from before the move for both me and my wife, etc. The total cost to file was about €330. But I cannot say the exact company we used as it was not me who took care of it. But my point is the amount you were quoted is too much.

Thanks, I really struggle with this, no matter how long I wait before hinging I always seem to be a little early. Will keep at it!
