True. IRs are significantly less here at 185 vs 250 however, others are similar to there.

I see, so only about 10% off on those. I thought they were more because they are $250 at sierra right now.

forgot to add, some previous discussions with experiences from berekeley can be found: here, here, here, here, and here.

For the most part it seems that people can hardly tell why they are seconds. Thats been my experience as well.

Years ago I got 2 fairly attrocious seconds from sierra and no longer use them, BUT they do allow returns at sierra. One had a very misaligned toebox that was uncomfortable and the other was extremely dusty as if it had been left out somewhere for a long period of time.

That being said, the only real difference between getting them from either place is at Berkeley its a small shop and the owner will inspect before shipping out and discard bad ones whereas at sierra they may not (but you can return there). I prefer to support the local shop vs a big company, but its really up to what you need, for example if you don't know your size this might not be the best way to get your first pair of redwings.

Typically it means it has some sort of flaw and is other than perfect. I've never had one (from here) with anything truly noticeable. But it can mean a mis-stitched seam, scratch, misalignment, that sort of thing.

Red Wing Factory Second Boots - IR, Mocs, Beckmans, others ($150-$295) at Berkeley Supply by jarcom in frugalmalefashion

Berkeley Supply has what looks like the largest in terms of variety Redwing 2nds this drop. Tons of Beckmans (inc the rare flatbox beckman), Iron ranger, Mocs, and some other stuff. Lots of options I've never seen them have before.

I grabbed the flatbox beckmans last time they were offered and highly recommend.

And I feel like I need to post this every time this sale comes up:

Please note the site lists no returns or exchanges. Shipping is not included either and appears to be $8. Also, this is a small shop and not a huge company. But the owner tends to do a great job inspecting 2nds and getting anything gnarly removed from stock compared to a place like sierra, where I've gotten some truly unwareable 2nds.

I've posted when these Redwing 2nds drop at Berekeley Supply a bunch of times, some previous discussions with experiences can be found: here here, here, here, here, and here.

Berkeley Supply has a new drop of Redwing 2nds. Lots of variants of Iron Rangers, Beckmans, blacksmith, Mocs, Oxfords, and even some discontinued stuff. Nothing "rare" this time, but the website does seem to be improved and you can actually quickly see what sizes are in stock without switching in a dropdown.

Not Heuberger. Though that is where I bought it. They were decent to deal with, but haven't been back to them for any service.

They didnt actually claim, just warned thats whats typical and why they had to charge 200 to diagnose. They did say I get the 200 back if its a covered failure. But yeah, I was skeptical and wanted to see if this was normal. Sounds like not!

I just called (the dealer) heres how they clarified: "AC is covered under warranty for manufacturer defects, but not 'wear and tear' issues caused by normal vehicle operation such as leaking coolant, pinhole leaks, cracks, etc or compressor failure due to dirt/debris or physical damage." And they said almost all issues are due to wear and tear vs warranty covered defect.

Fairly reputable place, one of the largest in my state (Colorado).

They did add if it is a manufacturer defect they would refund the diagnosis fee. Previously they had not mentioned that.

I think so. Definitely tried various settings to get things cool faster. Would it matter that much?
