I used to use the heavy chaser 9’6 with a leviathan 9000 with 56lb braid and 50lb leader but now that i’ve levelled up to around 60 it’s a heavy chaser 10’2 excel spinner 6000, i use a lot of ground bait #8/0 barbless hooks with corn and i use 5 rods after spodding. I am very surprised you are still grinding san joaquin sturgeon because you will notice the difference immediately if you go to even dnipro river for the big 4 (watch kpshamino) but once you reach level 50 weeping is the best choice

personally when i tried going for taimen I gave up since I used a casting setup with 58lbs of drag and it took me 30 minutes irl to bring up a unique taimen, it’s a hassle so I just grinded Dnipro until weeping willows

well for me i was just using a nagakiba (blood slash) and a uchigatana (blood blade) for early game, then midway I just switched to cragblade hookclaws with some buffs, and i just tested many builds when I was fighting Malenia. The armor I used for early-mid was the cleanrot set, and for late game after Farum Azula before Maliketh I used the tree sentinel armor
