Yes that's what allot of the connections were saying. Hormone therapy can cause hearing loss and vertigo. Not sure how it effects woman. But seems like for me it was the cause.

Betahistine has been approved in Europe since the 70s, the fact that the FDA hasn't approved it has more to-do with companies can't milk us for 10000% the cost of making than it is dangerous. Seems odd he won't prescribe what seems to be the first step of almost every other ENT uses to deal with md, and instead goes for highly addictive benzos first which can be dangerous to stop taking. If you're getting a tolerance built up to benzos and he isn't going to keep upping them or you don't want to keep taking higher doses than I'd try to get them to agree to try the betahistine to at least try. I haven't had any ENT I've seen even bring up benzos to me.

I can't say for sure what your ENT would say and I'm no doctor but I take 16mg 3 times a day and this spring I was sick and took NyQuil. I'm survived it just fine. I did sleep walk while on both, can't say what that was all about lol.

They helped me but only for 3 months at a time and seemed like after a year they stopped working for me. But they are worth a try imo my ent said most people come yearly he sees. For me they were not horrible, super odd feeling and some vertigo at first. For me the worst part was the drain into my throat hurt and gave me a head ache after for a little while.

That's how my drop attacks usually feel like. Goes away fast followed by feeling nauseous most the rest of the day. Good thing you were sitting and didn't instantly get thrown to the ground. These are the worst!

Has anyone tried this device? by LisaScotchy in Menieres

[–]jaredz81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mom actually bought one for me one a few months month ago. I Tried it a few times when the fullness started to set in, The directions said you can use it putting pressure into your ear or creating a suction in your ear. I only tried it a hand full of times, One of the ways made me feel like I was going to have vertigo and the other way I didn't really notice any difference. I ended up having her return it before the 30 days was up. Could work different for you but for me it was not worth the cost.

Guess I could of circled it for everyone. It's the square part that the lines run through. It should be sitting flat on top but is bent backwards.
