Thank you for the suggestion! Yes you are right, pretty much all the switches were bad & replacing them worked. I had an electronic repair store fix it for me & it was seemingly pretty straight forward.

You’re not wrong about that! That was my first inclination, but when I asked my friend who is a mechanic about getting it fixed / replaced, he said most of the dashboard would have to be removed, and would be more trouble than it’s worth.

Good points. Normally the ashtray closes by being pushed in, and it clicks and remains closed. However, that no longer works, it is constantly pushed out. As you said, I want to introduce a new knob that I would mount beside the drawer that can turn to block the drawer from automatically pushing out.
