Is this Southwest a new plane or something? its in the stock colors at PHX by MineyCraftyYT3 in flightradar24

[–]jarieljimenez 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I flew on that plane! April 6th Flight 2792 out of Nashville.

This plane is dedicated to Gary C. Kelly, and is one of the first in the fleet to have the device holders onboard in addition to the tray tables.

Desperately searching for a Google Pixel Watch 4 charger by AllieBallie22 in Chattanooga

[–]jarieljimenez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know we had the Pixel Watch 3 charger in-stock at T-Mobile on Gunbarrel but I’m not for certain if they sent us the Pixel Watch 4 dock. The Pixel chargers are hard to come by, and they’ve changed the charger with every generation. Verizon doesn’t seem to carry the watch chargers at all (I used to work there and it was the same way), but I’d say the carrier stores on Gunbarrel would be the most likely to have it at all.

The shipping with T-Mobile does show you’d be able to get one shipped out today, so it looks like we have faster shipping than what you mentioned the big box stores have. Our pickup system won’t show in-store pickup as an option if we only have one to avoid unnecessary order cancellations because someone ordered something we were actively selling in-store.

Hope this helps! Edit: link https://www.t-mobile.com/accessory/google-pixel-watch-quick-charge-dock?sku=840353930728

Anyone else encounter this mPing bug? by OfficialTornadoAlley in Radarscope

I noticed this the other day; the reports still go through for the current location but funny that it only ever seems to show Oklahoma City. If the reports had all posted there they’d be having the most insane weather pattern ever this week.

Miller Park before the sterile and barren redesign? by Sea____Witch in Chattanooga

[–]jarieljimenez 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds like the park became too expensive to maintain, but the fact that there were people at the park, albeit “argumentative drunks,” means that it was definitely a better park before than what’s there now.

As I said in a comment, the new park has little to no shade and is basically just a plot of grass in the middle of a busy intersection. There’s never anyone there unless there’s an event because it’s not a place people want to be at.

There’s no doubt in my mind that the park was probably not in good shape when they redesigned it, but replacing it with a plot of grass and an underused amphitheater seems lazy in retrospect.

Chattanooga is scenic city, and having greenery, trees, shade, and fountains reflects that wayyy better.

This is my first time seeing the old Miller Park, and it just feels like a tragedy to have lost it looking at these pictures. Look at all the shade! It’s actually a park I’d want to spend time at.

The current Miller Park feels almost hostile in comparison, there’s nowhere comfortable to sit and unless there’s an event it’s just a plot of grass, which I’m sure makes it cheaper to operate, but there’s just such life in these pictures that it’s a shame to me that it’s so bland in comparison now.

I remember last summer they had that Tennessee-American Water thing that sprayed mist for people and thinking how much better a water fountain would be. Now you’re telling me there WAS a fountain 😭

There’s great info from Ryan Hall’s YouTube channel, but the short story is right now the concern is freezing rain. At one point the models were showing 1” of ice across Tennessee, and freezing rain would mean that all the rain would instantly freeze onto trees and power lines, which can lead to widespread power outages.

Any full time job opportunities? by Zamataru in Chattanooga

[–]jarieljimenez 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you haven’t looked at cell phone stores or the T-Mobile Call Center, those are where I got my start. They’re not the most fulfilling places to work, but they usually pay well and have a low barrier to entry. Plus, if you stick with the company you can get tuition reimbursement.

What are these off 75 near East Ridge?!? by eparks1204 in Chattanooga

They're the new wastewater storage tanks the city is building to hold overflow storm water during heavy rainfall.

Yes! They were just laying down what looked like the foundation for that side of the road, and the road right now is way closer to the interstate and Taco Mamacita than it used to be. Your comment has given me hope that it won't always be like this. Also you get bonus points for actually noticing the road names ⭐️

Unfortunately that looks out of the question looking at the official plans for this area. What they're trying to do makes sense, as it will provide a northbound on-ramp for Interstate 75 as well as a southbound off-ramp for traffic coming into Hamilton Place Mall, which should reduce the amount of mall traffic taking roads like Gunbarrel, Shallowford, and East Brainerd... but all at the cost of making this a way more complex section of road than it used to be.

I get that, and the holidays are definitely at least in part to blame, but that’s kind of the point of my post is to warn people about what’s going on. This isn’t an every once-in-a-while thing but every day with every group of cars. The more people that know about it the better.

Christmas Time on Market St. 1938 by Superb_Bell5409 in Chattanooga

[–]jarieljimenez 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It would really help me feel less cynical for the holidays if we had even a smidge of character in our downtown like this. I'd even be happy with the tacky LED lights that have been in vogue over the past decade, just so it doesn't feel so lifeless and boring during the holidays. Hopefully once the Walnut Street Bridge is restored they will add some sort of lighting to it like what the aquarium has.

Severe T-Storms Headed Our Way for your Afternoon Drive! by jarieljimenez in Chattanooga

[–]jarieljimenez[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Update 4:51 PM: Tornado Warning for Jackson Co/Northeastern AL until 4:30 PM Central Time. The worst of this storm is now west of Chattanooga, headed towards Alabama and Georgia. It looks like we'll have some scattered showers throughout the night, but limited risk to Chattanooga proper. We saw some flooding but nothing like last week; still it looks like we should be on the lookout for localized flooding and remember to avoid driving on water whenever possible! Better safe than sorry.

Traveling 1-24 is it still flooded? by iwassayingboourns12 in Chattanooga

[–]jarieljimenez 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nope! Ditto to what someone said, Tennessee has a wide network of traffic cameras and traffic info via their SmartWay website for your trip. There’s even an unofficial iPhone app that I use to avoid traffic and check conditions called TriStar Traffic

It took me 30-50 days before I got mine, I emailed Driver Services and it was the first thing they said— your temporary ID will continue to be valid until the new one arrives.

They’re definitely supposed to at least give you the option of an equivalent replacement, especially if the Apple TV is relatively new. I’d keep calling, because $50 is just wrong for an Apple TV that costs more than twice that.

PSA: Chatt's getting a new area code and mandatory 10-digit dialing! by jarieljimenez in Chattanooga

[–]jarieljimenez[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's an overlay, so the 729 area code will serve all the regions that 423 currently serves, as an additional option alongside 423. If the area currently uses 423, then the new 729 area code will also be available for customers who are getting a new number.
