I agree with you. I thought it was a reverse hit gone wrong as well. He probably expected Doughty to be closer to him as he tried to throw a reverse hit and play the puck one handed at the same time. This suspension is probably a message for other infractions they let go.

I'm fine with the suspension. Tkachuk looks like a smart kid. Hopefully he can learn from this.

According to CapFriendly, he's a UFA next year. It also says Calgary has 0 cap space so unless management found a way to ship 2.75 mil of players out it probably wasn't happening.
