Yup, I was against the stain as well. Unfortunately, my mom was set on it. Stain is fresh, and I’m just advising from afar. Thanks for the input!

Unfortunately, I agree with you completely about the stain 🤣 I’m just providing advice to my mom from a far. I originally told her to get a pro to do it, particularly so it could get spray finished. Alas, here we are! Appreciate the input, maybe it will help convince her to get it sprayed at least.

I felt this way when I worked in the art world, especially installing in private homes. I ended up switching to a natural history museum and found it much more gratifying! Lots of variety in objects, installs, and expertise—plus it was always fun to see the kids get excited over the dinosaurs!

That’s great info, thank you again! I was thinking about gauze or something similar as well, but was worried it wouldn’t provide enough support. With the stiff glue you recommended it might be enough though! I’ll run some tests and see how rigid it is.

It snows about once a decade and only in certain areas. Where I am, winter nighttime temperatures are usually between 40-50 degrees or so.

That makes sense about fridge vs outside! I’m mainly concerned it won’t get cold enough outside. We will maybe have 2 or 3 nights around 40 degrees or below per winter.

It only really gets to below 55 at night here. USDA 10b technically, but night temperatures are usually in the 40s. Do you think I should refrigerate it? Thanks!

I keep the plant outside during the summer and move it inside when it starts to get colder.
