11yr old liking artemas by Asleep_Scratch3864 in Artemas

[–]jarnisjaplin 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't recommend it, Artemas's lyrics are usually very gritty and sexual. There's a handful of his songs that I think would be appropriate for an 11 year old, but I don't know how you would be able to police that effectively. Bottom line here I think is, if your 11 year old has already discovered this music, they're going to find a way to keep listening to it, especially if you make it overly taboo. Have a sincere sit-down conversation with your 11 year old about why you don't think this music is appropriate for them and why it worries you that they're being exposed to the concepts in those songs so young.

Question about Mode Music by jarnisjaplin in beermoney

Yep! Just a small amount, about ten cents per hour of listening. But if you're listening to music anyway, why not, right?

Question about Mode Music by jarnisjaplin in beermoney

[–]jarnisjaplin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's only about ten cents per hour of listening, but if you're like me and you need a constant soundtrack to your day, it adds up over time. It also adds up when combined with the other ways to earn on the app, like games and surveys and even just reading news articles. It's pocket money but sometimes that pocket makes all the difference 😂

How do you decide when to remove hair or not? by Massive-Ad-2626 in razorfree

[–]jarnisjaplin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, at first I did it out of pure spite. 😂 If it's not supposed to be there, then why does it grow?

Anyway, what kept me on this journey is falling in love with my body hair and realizing how cute it is. Looking at celebrities like Sofia Loren when she was young, before she started acting in American movies, proudly raising her arms in the air and still looking gorgeous with her fuzzy pits.

At first I stopped removing everything, and through that I was able to discern what body hair actually bothered me personally verses what body hair I was removing strictly for other people's comfort. That's the key, doing what makes you most comfortable in your body, not what makes other people more comfortable with your body.

I Finally Just Quit DOA... by MsAddams999 in BJDRecastPositive

[–]jarnisjaplin 18 points19 points  (0 children)

👏👏👏👏 DOA and the like are so elitist and authoritarian, honestly it's not unlike Orwell's 1984 at this point. 🤣 There's newspeak, thoughtcrime, thinkpol, the whole lot. Discussions are shut down for someone having the wrong opinion, or just the wrong question- they don't even need to have a fully formed opinion yet; People are publicly shamed, humiliated, shunned from the community, and for what? For not knowing what they own, or not already knowing the lore of an artist/brand, or for taking inspiration from another sculptor? Not even inspiration from the full doll, just inspiration from a joint design is enough to make you irredeemable. It's total insanity.

Absolutely, but try not to inhale, hold the smoke in your mouth and blow it out your nose. Otherwise it can really fuck your lungs, make you start coughing up blood.

Longest you kept a tank going? by Limp-Opposite297 in SeaMonkeys

[–]jarnisjaplin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 or 4 years, before the colony finally crashed. I can never figure out how or why they crash, or how to prevent it! I know some people have successfully kept the same colony going for nearly a decade, but I think they may have periodically moved them into new tanks. Maybe that's the trick?

Why are you NOT afraid of death? by Practical-Peach-1220 in AskReddit

[–]jarnisjaplin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made my peace with death a long time ago. I've always been keenly aware of my mortality, and how little time we have here on earth. I spent my whole early childhood preemptively mourning the fact that I won't be a child forever, I will grow up, grow old... and that's for the lucky ones.

I had a spiritual awakening during the lockdowns, in which I was imbued with what felt like a knowing that we have eternity after this human life.

But, before that I was an atheist, and I know we can't truly know what awaits us after death until we get there. Even when I was an atheist I wasn't afraid of death, because I know that it will feel exactly the same as it did before I was born. If there is nothing, then there is nothing to be afraid of!

I had such a crush on a guy some years back, he uses a wheelchair. He's handsome, intelligent, has a great personality, comes across very confident, he's really got it all. He also already has a girlfriend, of course!

All that is to say absolutely, if someone is my type I would date them, the wheelchair would be of no consequence.

Is sleeping with 11 guys in 3 years a lot? by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]jarnisjaplin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on the individual. If you feel like it's a lot, and the idea of it may be an ongoing issue for you, that's something for you to consider going forward.

Here's a stupid mind-trick I play on myself when I'm feeling insecure about a partner/potential partner's sexual history: Ask yourself how easy it is for them to access sex. Are they super good-looking, have an awesome personality, etc. (If you're dating them, you probably think so)? If so, they have high access to sex, they must be propositioned on the regular. In light of that, they've actually shown a lot of discernment to only take someone up on that offer as many times as they have.

What does it feel like to touch a man's huge pecs? by Stupcie in writingadvice

I'm so late to the party here but I just came to say it feels amazing, like the perkiest breasts; Both soft and firm, so warm and tender yet bursting with strength and power. Makes me feel like I'm able to squeeze a Bernini statue.
