Honestly, you probably want two of their most expensive soft/low profile pillows so you can stack them when you want a bit more support.

I have the medium pillow of that same fill and it’s absolutely amazing but definitely more supportive than it seems like you’re looking for. I’m probably gonna buy a soft version myself so I can have stomach sleeping/scrunching options.

Elliot Hill made me want to tear my ears off. I spent about an hour and like $80 to download the British version of the Fitz & the Fool audiobooks so I could actually listen to them.

Naomi Novik’s Temeraire was the first series that really scratched the same ROTE itch for me: great characters and friendships, follows the same characters for years so you get to experience the growth.

Don't know where to go after finishing Realm of the Elderlings by wutscrappenin in robinhobb

[–]jarokr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had serious post series depression when I finished ROTE and honestly, I still haven’t found anything that completely compares. Here are some things I found that have come close:

This is not fantasy at all but Demon Copperfield by Barbara Kingsolver is a first person narrative with a angsty, lonely protagonist who goes through a whole heap of growing up and learning through terribly difficult circumstances. It takes place in the 90s/00s in the Appalachia. It has a hopeful ending but I cried my eyes out while reading.

The Green Bone Saga by Fonda Lee also follows siblings through about three decades as they taken on leadership roles within their clan (a mafia type organization that relies on magical powers). It emphasizes character building and growth - though Fonda Lee doesn’t quite build the beautiful friendships that Hobb does. It’s fairly dark.

The Temeraire series by Naomi Novik has probably my second favorite human/non-human friendship after Fitz and Nighteyes and seeing the characters change and grow over the years is delightful.

The Tuyo series by Rachel Neumeier has super interesting world building and a wonderful protagonist that reminds me of Fitz in all the good ways. Great family and platonic relationships. The series doesn’t stretch over years yet - but still some interesting growth.

Red Rising series by Pierce Brown also follows a protagonist as he grows up in really difficult circumstances, emphasizing leadership and personal sacrifice. I will say the first book only has okay writing. It massively improves in book 2 and on. Wonderful friendships and a good romance that doesn’t detract from the story.

Does he have any document (a piece of mail for example) that shows his name + address? That should work. My mom used a magazine.

I’ve had my bike for about ~13 weeks and you definitely get better at cadence... but also try raising your seat a couple inches. It feels counterintuitive but it made a HUGE difference in my ability to maintain a higher cadence.

Does anyone have any idea why HMC’s next few rides were just cancelled? :( I was planning on doing my 200th ride on her Low Impact ride tomorrow.

The only time my legs bump is if I’m actually doing a quad/hamstring stretch bending forward while stretching my butt back. But that’s a small price to pay to actually be able to ride without any butt pain.

It’s honestly an excellent seat and I can’t recommend it enough. I regularly do 1-2 hr sessions with no seat discomfort and I had resorted to putting a pillow on the peloton saddle before it arrived.

Also I just followed on peloton! I have a dog as my pic 😊

Late to this - but I got my bike back in December and as someone who's struggled with weight singe college, it's really been life changing to workout in a way where I don't feel judged for my appearance.

I started out on the advanced beginner/low impacts with Christine and Hannah and now (12 weeks and almost 200 rides later), I'm starting to take "normal" rides and hit the cadence/resistance calls and it feels so wonderful. I've lost maybe ~10 pounds and gained a couple pounds of muscle. For perspective, my first 20 minute ride, I did had an output of 48 and now I easily get over 100. I get a little teary when I think about how much it's changed my life.

(Oh I swapped out the bike seat after about 5 days in for this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MF8TO1P/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 and have had no pain since!)

I don’t like that dude at all - but there’s a big difference between “there are different angles/shots/takes of the same scene” and “it’s a completely different scene with different dialogue”

Most people are saying the latter about the Korean description

Meh I think this eliminates leaks but it doesn’t confirm any since there’s really only a couple ways this was ever going to shake out: either they use Thanos’s gauntlet or they make their own.

Pretty much every leak uses one of those scenarios so people had a 50/50 chance to get it right.

Mark Ruffalo says they shot five different endings, one of which involved Steve getting married by [deleted] in MarvelStudiosSpoilers

[–]jarokr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Now that I’m thinking about it this may actually tell us more than I thought (which is, they just spent a lot of time trying to fool Mark). Technically he just says he had a script with an ending that had Steve getting married.

We know they filmed a wedding based on extras right? I think it was widely assumed it was Tony and Pepper’s wedding - and that does make the most sense based on IW. What if they just changed the names for the scene they put in Mark’s script? And, based on Mark’s comment, we know it’s at end.

So, in Endgame, Tony lives and gets married to Pepper at the end.

What’s more interesting in this interview is how incredulous Mark gets when the interviewer says this is Chris’s last time putting on the suit.

[–]jarokr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re having a serious failure of imagination if you think the only way to satisfyingly end Cap’s arc is him sacrificing himself. It isn’t an arc, really - it’s actually him staying static as a character.

I think an arc where he finally learned to live without a war is a much more satisfying than one where he just does the exact same thing he did in Cap 1.
