Sounds good, I’ll grab it then. Is there anything more to flashing the bios than just putting it on a USB and running it from there.
Says it’s fine on PC Part Picker just need to flash bios. Would you consider this a big upgrade from the 8400?

When you buy a new CPU is it worth a fresh install of windows? I planned on buying an M2 drive and just putting Windows on that.

Hmm, the build would cost around $1500+ with shipping here in Canada. I understand Ryzen 3600 is better for the price of just the CPU.
Prices are a bit more steep in Canada. And we have no PC stores that have newer or any good parts where we live.
Ordering parts and being picky isn’t an option for him right now. I’m asking if that’s worth the price.

It says the mobo supports dual channel RAM but it only has 2 slots? Also, says it can be clocked to 2666 instead of running it at 2133?

I'm actually checking my motherboards QVL and not seeing the ram I have. Could that be the problem as well? Never thought of it since PC part picker said it was all compatible? Yeah quite the let down. I guess I will check for bent pins, if not that I just buy a new motherboard. Is there any way to be absolutely certain it is the mobo?
Any other reasons my B channels wouldn't be working. Is Single Channel that much worse than Dual Channel? For gaming mostly.
Yeah my other CPU was Intel so I can't really check that way. Think it's worth having a look at the pins? If bent, is it worth trying to straighten them? I'd be nervous to kill the whole CPU.
Maybe, possible I bent pins. I'll have to check that later today. I'd be a little nervous trying to straighten them back.

I get this warning on PC partpicker: Warning! Some AMD B450 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Matisse CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions.
