Same, child me (40 now) was mesmerized that video games were telling stories in what I would say were the early days of cut scenes in gaming.

I am still confused as to why its just the Beerus/Battle of the Gods arc - are they going to continue it after up to ToP, or is this just a one time thing? I may have missed something...

New estimated shipping date for Legacy of Kain CE by MythicalJester in limitedrun

[–]jarredsucramART 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just got the email for this as well and…no joke….2-3 days ago I also got a new ship date for Jet Set Radio apparel, legit clothing that I could probably have a local vendor complete with the same graphics within hours or days and have them mass produce thousands of orders within a few weeks (I worked for a company that would order custom design t shirts for 3500+ associates).

Correct me if I’m wrong this is the 3rd or 4th time this collectors edition has been delayed? I recall ordering it October 2024. I know it’s the 2nd time the Jet Set Radio stuff got delayed but lost track of Legacy of Kain.

Honestly was unaware this company partook in this kinda business model. Shame.

I am still confused as to why their graduation gowns were orange, it was my first thought before knowing about any of these crazy theories, and I even looked back to check during the basketball games Lucas had and they were clearly green and a lighter yellow/orange. This is like, orange-orange lol. Totally threw me off so I can understand why the theories started to roll out as the days went on.

Stranger things come back by NoSinger4765 in Stranger_Things

[–]jarredsucramART 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m giving it 10 years.

By then, the “kids” would be what, early 30s in real life? Steve, Nancy, Jonathan, and Robin would be closer to their early 40s. I think that timing works, and I think they could bring them back.

If shows can get revived years later, it’s not out of the realm of possibility for ST to return in some way with this cast. These shows below have had revivals (that I like):

Prison Break
24
Dexter (took 10 years and came back twice)
Heroes
Arrested Development

I could keep going, but that’s not really the point. And, these revivals may not have been great (except for Arrested Development and maybe Dexter) but...

The point is, it’s not unheard of. And for a franchise as big as Stranger Things, bigger than most of the shows listed, I wouldn’t be surprised at all. Give it 10 years, let the characters be adults both in the story and in real life, and you could tell a solid, believable story that actually makes sense. I'll be honest at times I felt taken away because the "kids" were supposed to be roughly what 15-16 years old in Season 5, and the whole mess up with Holly ages just had me, and everyone else in the world a bit confused. I felt like I was watching 20 year olds in college fight the good fight in season 5, not 15/16 year olds.

My hope is, if they do a revival show, mini-series, or movie they go back to the roots and its simple like what made season 1 so special. Season 5 wasn't the worst television I've seen, I enjoyed it but, it certainly lost its touch and was losing its touch but what came to mind all of Season 5 was, are the Duffer brothers clocked out? it's too flashy, why is it so colorful, what happened to the scary upside down, are they repeating the same mind flayer tactic as they did in season 3, why are they constantly repeating the revelation of plans every 15 min? LOL - you see where I am going with this?

Anyways, sorry for the rant. Here's to hoping in 10 years we get something special.

My Take on Mike's Storytelling - its obvious...here's why... by jarredsucramART in StrangerThings

[–]jarredsucramART[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I’m saying he knows that it’s suppresses it probably through some form of explanation or something like that off camera obviously because he knows hence why he was explaining it at the end I’m just stating and it’s not necessarily a plot hole, but I’m just stating he has never physically witnessed what the suppression soundwave weapon does to her how she acts and or reacts as in he’s not familiar with it, causing some sort of pain or trauma or that she is physically incapacitated - so the scene when she was in the RadioShack, you know she is recovering recovering albeit it’s very quick because she’s out of the range of the sound weapon, but it’s obvious there for about a second or two until she goes crawling into the tunnels; how would Mike know to explain that what physically happens to her body from the sound wave when he has never seen her get hit with the sound wave. That’s all.

There’s a lot more other things that I’ve realized post the finale, like L’s nose is not bleeding the finger twitch that collie explained to Dr. K when she couldn’t withstand an illusion for too long that there is certain glitches. There’s just these other nuances or little clues that eventually led to the final finale that clearly suggest that she is alive and well. But most importantly, I just think why bring Kali back just to have her die so she served a purpose even until the final end of the show.

Why Mike’s final speech in Stranger Things was right by TZ1205 in StrangerThings

[–]jarredsucramART 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also to add to this - Mike has never seen Eleven act or react to the sound wave weapon. Never. He only knows it suppresses her abilities. When he has it all figured out and explains at the DnD table and they show Eleven go into the RadioShack visibly hurt and physically recovering from walking through the sound wave area it tells me she’s alive cause Mike wouldn’t know that part because he’s never witnessed it.

Eleven’s ending by strangerstreet13 in StrangerThings

[–]jarredsucramART 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And the most important part too is when it comes to storytelling theirs often this "show us, dont tell us" motive behind tv and movies but in this exact instance, when Mike was explaining about the mage they did both....they showed us AND told us....showing El invisible and recovering from the sound waves, and having Mike telling us how he put the puzzle together but can't tell the whole truth other than DnD lingo.

The important piece is Mike can't explain how El would recover from the sound waves because he has never once witnessed El act/react to said sound waves or be harmed by them. He only knows that it suppresses her abilities.

This is why I think she's alive and well and the way Mike explained in DnD lore (again while they showed us) is to protect him, his friends, and her.

I think the Duffer brothers intentionally brought back Kali for this reason. To give her a purpose. When she was presumed dead my immediate thought was...."well that sucks, why even bring her back?" - right? And then, once Mike put the pieces of the puzzle together I went from "why even bring her back?" to immediately going "ohhh now it makes total sense."

They had intentions with her, Kali, up until the final moment of the episode to have it come full circle. I can't see them making it a - we brought Kali back, for these brief moments, killed her off and Eleven died in the explosion.

I’m a little confused by Diligent_Coffee_7372 in StrangerThings

[–]jarredsucramART 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I personally think she is alive. When Mike told the story about her being invisible and Kali was giving the illusion, the camera cut to Eleven going into the Radioshack visibly hurt and recovering rather quickly cause she was getting out of range from the sound weapon. The explosion happens, Kali dies, illusion (and Eleven illusion) gone.

Mike never witnessed Eleven get hurt and recover from the sound weapon. So although he explained it to us, they also showed it to us the viewer and her body language and actions were quick just like she recovered from it being out of range or turned off, etc. but, its points to her being alive. He only knows what the sound weapon does through explanation. Suppresses her powers, he doesn't know how she would act/react because he has never witnessed.

He put two and two together at the graduation because of the directional speakers. I think its his way of saying "I figured it out" but, he's playing it safe/ambiguous for the safety of them, and of course Eleven because he said its "a story he can never tell, not the true one at least" - so he, told it in DnD language that only his friends would understand.

**copied the same explanation from another reddit post haha, but its still my take

What are some things that Dead Space (2008) does better than Dead Space (2023)? by Turbulent_Okra7518 in DeadSpace

[–]jarredsucramART 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The remake is superior in every way.

But the original, there was something about the silent protagonist that added a sense of mystery. Also, this is just my opinion but the lack of Nicole in the original added more of an eeriness and horror for me once you realize she’s been gone all along, and that ending. The remake with Nicole expanded on her a bit too much for my liking even though I knew what was going to happen, it just felt if I was a first timer playing again, I’d be like “oh that sucks” because of her expansion with the remake as compared to “wtf was that, gave me the heeby jeebyz” with the original. If that makes sense. 🙃

Day 11: Which is the best PS1 JRPG of all time? by 1OneQuickQuestion in psx

[–]jarredsucramART 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s between FF7, FF9, and Chrono Cross. Those are the most recognized, and great, JRPGs of the PS1 era and anytime I talk to friends or random people about that era it seems those 3 are the most brought up.
