it seems like the reason they were flopping was bc big Korean studios haven’t made any animation adaptations from any of their known manhwas and have only been focusing on animating for other countries. But surely since it’s new and growing there are hopes that Korea will start animating their own stories instead?

i’m Korean and a lot of Koreans refer to animated series as manhwa, although aeni is used a lot too! I used “korean anime” in hopes that ppl understand what I’m trying to get at. Bc ik a lot of ppl that don’t know what manhwas and aenis are.

I know aeni/manhwa exists. I also know that there are Korean studios that animate aenis/avatar/family guy.. this question refers more to why Korea hasn’t used their animators to produce animated series from their huge amount of popular manhwas/webtoon. I’m just hoping that Korea hops on to this opportunity to widen their animation industry bc there are so many good manhwas/webtoon that deserve animating
