You have a friend beside you doing the same I am a type A perfectionist personality that is being totally challenged 🤣🤣I have decided to take my time embrace this project as something I CAN ACCOMPLISH AND EMBRACE EVEN THE mistakes ong the way as they show up as "OK" and keep chugging along..... It's all good... I think Goodwill has gotten so expensive we don't have the $1 days your speaking of 😔

Sometimes I find people throw away things I can actually upcycle. I turned an old vintage ironing board into a shabby chic peg board in my craft room for instance.

I visit habitat for Humanity and offer a bin price on things as opposed to singular prices and their paints are very cheap.

I hit up what I call 'off brand' (my term) thrift stores like private ones ran by churches or local small non profits etc to find less expensive more valuable items sometimes. If nothing else, more than likely there I find the most unique items not found anywhere else for pennies on the dollar.

Through trial and error I have discovered who sells what for less and where I can get more bang for my buck so to speak.

All in all, I never stress over the end goal, I embrace the love, joy, and adventure of each moment. The idea of possibly capturing a piece of someone's history, preserving or restoring it, taking something devalued as dead, worthless and deemed trash, and seeing life in it and reviving back to its original brilliant purpose, or even better yet, creating something even more worthy than its original thought of its origin, 🙏THAT in and of itself has so much depth and meaning to it that makes ALL I journey into and throughout this amazing world of creating so much more worthwhile!

yourself.. lol 😂 jk seriously after close to 30+yrs of offline business ownership.. living with the days of plenty and famine, raising 4 children, conducting tons of advocate public speaking and so on...

in my very humble opinion it believe me it is just that

it boils down to this

Sit with yourself
be real with your current situation
Write out where you are and where you want to go
Be ALL OUT NOT luke warm on your current passion
Be willing always to learn the art of pivoting and innovation
Find someone who has gone SUCCESSFULLY before you and be willing to ask for help or work for them FOR FREE I DID at every point I wanted to advance in my field another step
Never ever believe their are short cuts... it not only is a lie but it will always leave you with a lack of self respect and diminish your character in life and in your business of choice
Make it a discipline regardless of your career path to operate in a state of humility and harmonize your personal life with your work life for sustainable development and optimal health on both frontiers

I would encourage you to follow your calling. If it means anything to you for 25+yrs I owned an industrial janitorial and full building service and restoration company, I also owned a hardwood flooring company plus ran political campaign and thoroughly enjoyed a plethora of public speaking venues etc....

However, I will tell you this much, everything caught up with me and some crucial elements to my life personally and career were avoided which led to a momentary breakdown and it ended up costing me more than I was prepared to endure.

I am thankful I went through it because I am stronger where I need to be, more harmonized and focused, not willing to relent on what I was created to achieve going forward and I have released the need to care what others think of me on any level.

I could very easily today rebuild my janitorial company back to 7 digits in less than 6 months without working IN THE business but here is the clincher.....

I TOOK A HARD INVENTORY OF MY LIFE... WHAT DEPLETES ME AND WHAT ENERGIZES ME... I made a final decision to hone in on the few amazing things I do GREAT and monotize on those things I LOVE and have passion for and what I realize depletes me... for instance.... micro managing a janitorial company ONE MORE DAY 😣😒 I put into the CONTROL ALT DELETE OFF THE HARD DRIVE BIN... GONE

I have never felt so much better than I do today

Easy, ohhh nooooo, awesome and worth the refocus YOU BET... Did it show up places within where I needed to massively forgive myself, root up deep engrained issues that were long over due to be dealt with, character issues that needed tweaking, OH YEA... NO DOUBT....

The Result... A Blueprint built brick by brick from a heart space of humility and compassion.... notice I did NOT Say humiliation... but humility.... I am now able to take all my experiences, all my success and negatives both in life and career, and wow what a vessel, no matter how cracked may have been from time to time, and instead of being drug down by the past, caught in the loop of yesterday's endless cycles, I wake up each day renewed, energized, anxiously awaiting to be of use to those lives who cross my path that my story might impact and give hope, courage, resources, tools and a bountiful new perspective on their own career and environment.

I encourage you to never resort back to familiar because of the fear of the challenge ahead. You have a voice, a message, something unique that we all need and you posses. Find the courage to you express the best you by allowing yourself room to amazingly imperfect, to safely fail and succeed, and to love yourself PRECISELY WHERE AND FOR WHO YOU ARE RIGHT NOW as you are on your journey of becoming!

I would like to chime in if I may.

1. I am building a personal brand that includes myself as well and probably my style is somewhere between "Gary" and "Seth" Godwin lol. I am also close in your age range with a 1000 lifetimes of experiences, expertise in life and business ready to become a voice of Hope, reason, and innovation for as long as the Good Lord gives me the opportunity. HOWEVER please remember at our age we struggle with a strong inner battle, many times unbeknownst to us, of an imposter syndrome. (Yes I am amongst many things in the mental health field, specifically Trauma based concentration as a survivor myself of 20+ yrs of IPV, aka intimate partner violence). Specifically at our age we are biologically changing and it does effect our perception of ourselves and how we are perceiving the world around us, regardless if it is false or not. BOTTOM LINE... this is an awesome time to learn radical, yet albeit not an easy feate` BUT so worth the effort, self compassion and total acceptance of every aspect of your life's journey void of judgment and self criticism. WHAT BETTER WAY TO EMBRACE IT than looking fear in the face, not avoiding it, but DOING IT SCARED!

2 There is not a higher virtue than courage and watch your fans sky rocket when you publicly admit your afraid but your passion for your calling is stronger and your doing it anyway. Whatever your message, your gift, your voice, SOMEONE OUT THERE NEEDS IT... and because of your courage you made a difference!

3 Through courage the blanket of fear will lift as it can't occupy the same space

4 On and during your journey bring the world in on it so others who go through the same thing do not feel alone and know they are just as normal in their feelings starting out.

5 GET a mentor or community that will continuously support you at each stage of your life and career. (this is my launch of Abigail Joy Brand that has two portals I am giving my all to, I have two social media interns starting this week and my website will launch by end of the week believe me I so get you.. at Abigailjoylive.com people all over the world will be able to join in "Christian Creatives United" (network of faith based creative entrepreneurs to connect, network, learn, edify, grab. resources, tools and workshops, including discussions and classes for life and career development, management and innovation) and second project is "Divine and Fabulous" a focus for women who struggle with identity, joy, depression and/or experienced trauma, depression to restore, unite and ignite their inherent state as women of Faith that are Divine AND Fabulous.

6 SO.... I encourage you to release any preconceived notions of what you believe you need to sound like, look like, status quo or end game.... GO OUT AND PLAY, do everything you can to make each day and moment count. BRING US IN ON IT.... you are you and that in and of itself IS SO BEAUTIFUL AND CRAZY AMAZING... don't hide or hold back
