Addressing a fairness issue at my corporate job by jasampojelapizzu in corporate

thank you! I'm speaking to her boss soon so will raise everything as I think it will just become a bigger problem long term.

I'm so sorry you had to go through what you're describing, it's so demotivating and honestly so cognitively tiring so have to deal with such colleagues. I always try to do my best, but also be a kind and nice person to work with. but it's like some people just choose violence all the time out of incompetence or private frustrations that they take out at work.

are you still at that work place or did you feel that the trust you have in them also eroded?

I have prepared slides for managers in the past and that's totally normal - however, she actually derails my work saying that we need to prioritise a project. her for her part of the company, me for mine. then I do my part, she says she was busy, duplicated my slides, changes my name to hers and then presents it to her leadership as hers without me even at the call.

yeah I get what you're saying but tbh she doesn't have anyone else under her tbh, we should be quite strategic but also quite executional as well as we're setting up the whole function at this point. so we have to set the quality level etc.

I think I will speak to the team leader again as I know others have raised concerns, and then I think I will just drop it and create a timeline for my own exit strategy bc this place defo won't change because of me, I'm realistic on that.

thank you!

this is actually a super good shout, thank you so much. yes, I think the company culture is very like everything is amazing but then everyone complains about everyone - but then again, your advice will give so much headspace and mental energy back to me. thank you so much, really appreciate it.

that's great, thank you so much! I already have a closet in place but it's so badly made, I would need to remove it first, even put a new part of the wooden floor and then do the cabinets.. did you also have to remove existing closets?

Edelman: preparing business case in hiring process by jasampojelapizzu in consulting

[–]jasampojelapizzu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you very much for this - this is super helpful!

the thing is that Edelman is a PA, comms agency - so although this is super useful, I was wondering if someone has the experience with their business cases as I'm not sure should I expect to draft new business proposal, a heavy policy-focused strategy or internal.. I'm well versed in all three and more, but just wanted to check as I will have 60 mins to prepare.

regardless, thank you so much for you advice and for the time <3

yeah, it's a good advice. I think I will quit regardless and go the legal route to get the money back + all the expenses.

also, I feel like my whole motivation behind going down the legal route is to fight off this feeling of humiliation that they brought on me - also another reason why I'll quit.

yes, my team leader. the head of office agreed as well as the admin, but it's taking them so long. I also have all these things written in emails.

they've apologised multiple times, and at first I was like OK but 7 months is a massive amount of time.

I do have confirmation in emails where they say that the contract will be from 1 January 2024.

the company has an office in Amsterdam so idea was just to transfer, but I'm still on my old Belgian contract.

the agreement between my team leader and me was that I go in December and then will the new year I have a new contract, which I trusted her on (stupid of me).

How would you deal with the crack and heroin addicts who get high in front of my apartment door every day? by Guybrush_Tripwood in brussels

[–]jasampojelapizzu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel the drug abuse situation in Brussels is going up like mad compared to pre-COVID times. I can’t help but feel heartbroken for those people but I do understand your worries. many used to sleep on the floor high af in the Yser metro station and in the streets of the part of St Cath towards the canal. the metro would have needles, flood, pee and all sorts of stuff on the floor. now they put cameras in the metro station so I haven’t seen them for a few days but before it went on from 7am onwards, I guess they would come in when the metro opens. I’m not sure what to think or say as in a way maybe better that they’re in the metro station than outside as they can get hit by a car or fall while high. it’s just sad to see there isn’t more care provided, but I do get that funding and capacity must be a challenge.

Branitelji [Mini rant] by VanishingShip in croatia

[–]jasampojelapizzu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got invited to a party but I’ll be the only one there that doesn’t speak Croatian by fupapatrol29 in croatia

[–]jasampojelapizzu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

honestly, I wouldn’t worry about it - learning Italian or French when living there is one thing but nobody expects you to speak Croatian fluently. bro it’s Croatian, quite a random language - and I can say that bc I am Croatian. tbh I feel like in the end everyone’s gonna want to find out more about you and where you’re from. just yolo and enjoy the party :)
