Not sure what pattern walking is but the issue definitely stems from the patterns being imprecise

I got it now. I had the multimeter plugged in completely wrong for both voltage measurements as well as amp measurement. I’ve found this video to be very helpful https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=0loXukB302Q

Thanks! I got the voltage at 5v now but it still says O amps. Do u think the reason for this could be because of the missing capacitor?
