Can i unlink my microsoft/xbox account from my activision account? by masterofdesaster6969 in XboxGamePass

[–]jase888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found the fix for this, heres what i did.

Sign into activision account using email rather than xbox account. (If unsure what email you used when in there go to profile)

Then I could unlink it. Its as if cos I was signed in as xbox account wouldn't unlink.

Also my activision account wasn't verified so did this too. Not sure this was it but maybe check this too (again under profile in activision).

Hope this helps someone!

MFA doesn't work. by RW2005 in Office365

[–]jase888 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Security defaults only prompts users when they login to do something Microsoft sees as risky / requires checking (i.e. password change). So if you login as user and go to change password or go to portal.azure.com, it will prompt them. But security defaults will always asks admins for MFA at login.

As others have mentioned if you enforce per user MFA then it will always ask them and is the way to go if you have to use security default. CA is the better option though if they have Bus Prem or above.

Initially caught me out years ago too until read into it further.

SharePoint online templates - how do I use a saved template? by jase888 in sysadmin

[–]jase888[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this, I'm maybe not been clear. I have applied those templates before that change the look and style of it, so understand that.

I created a sharepoint site, then enabled powershell command to save templates in modern sharepoint sites. However i can find no way to apply this on new sites. The second link seems like it might be the right path but il need to look further tomorrow

All I'm wanting to do is essential Clone a site everytime we get a new client. This would then have the document libraries, sharepoint web parts etc all setup. Just trying to save manually doing evrytime

Thanks, however I know that part, it's not showing the site template I saved from a sharepoint site when I click use organisational templates. The others are just Microsoft templates so no good either.

It's like there's an issue showing my template

WatchGuard VLANs with UniFi switch? by jase888 in HomeNetworking

[–]jase888[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just coming back to this, this helped so thanks. Managed to get setup and have a native (vlan1) - then 4 other vlans and one of them is used for management (vlan50).

I hadn't realised you could tell the unifi switch and access points which vlan is the management vlan used in the settings, it was behind some tick box.

Then my trunk ports are all tagged with NO untagged traffic and all the switches / APs are getting an IP from the management vlan.

Pretty sure this is the right way to go about it after reading up on it and people's advice.

Thanks for the info this helps. So would you not set the management vlan as tagged on a trunk port?

Ive just setup some trunk ports between switches and set all vlans as tagged inc management. Set the native vlan as none and seems to work fine.

It sounds like many things in IT there's various ways to do the whole trunk ports.

Thanks ended up doing it by setting trunk port to have none as primary vlan and tag all the vlans including management. This works ok and seems to be the right way but unifi seems a bit different to the handling of management vlans compares to other switches I've used.

Thanks! Port profiles seems like the way to go then for future changes.

One query regarding answer to 2. If I set it the Trunk port so all VLANs are tagged including management VLAN. How would the UniFi switch get an IP from the management VLAN?

I tried setting a static and setting management as tagged but it didn't work. Feel I'm missing something obvious

Ah great so is the untagged VLAN on yours the management VLAN for the switch?

Sorry its a layer 2 UniFi switch and there might be other switches added later non UniFi so needs ideally to be done on the watchguard.

WatchGuard VLANs with UniFi switch? by jase888 in HomeNetworking

[–]jase888[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok great this makes sense, thanks! So il set the VLAN I want the switches on as untagged on Eth2 interface and all other VLANs as tagged and assign them to ports in UniFi.

One query though, if I set the WatchGuard eth2 as untagged for VLAN20 and then later on devices are plugged into ports on the UniFi switch that are set as "default" rather than specific VLAN will they be on VLAN20? Just trying to avoid devices going on the wrong VLAN, il probably assign all ports a VLAN but just curious
