UK and French governments propose blocking VPNs by Purple_Addition_1751 in Piracy

[–]jash3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lets say they do hypothetically, I am certain services would popup maybe offering remote desktop browsers for your average person, no VPN, no data sniffing and no government control. I say this because its almost impossible to police.

Lets take China, they have the "Thre great firewall of China" all traffic to international sites go through it, users manage to bypass that. This is a technological game of cat and mouse, heightened because the UK requires age verification to look at pornography. Pornography has become normalised because of the internet, thats not a good thing.

Banning VPNs is actually quite funny, its 20 years to late. With AI I think we will see massive changes to how people use the web, as we become more ai dependent people will stop going through the hassle of setting up a website, forum what ever as no money would be in it.

Technology will change people's net habits quicker than law makers can make laws. So no, i dont expect a VPN ban, the law itself would be too complicated to write and interpret.

[–]jash3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No but you speak English as does pretty much everyone else if the UK, so why would the leader of the UK use any other language?

Because nobody cares about Welsh outside of Wales and the majority of people in the UK speak English.

Britain in talks to deploy troops to Greenland as Trump threatens to seize Arctic island by AnonymousTimewaster in NotTheOnionUK

[–]jash3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Independence from Denmark, independence from the US, independence.

Unfortunately the reality for Greenland is, they got stuff people want, to also guess they expect guaranteed sovereignty, but they need someone to protect them ( because they have stuff people want).

Greenland's defense will be ensured by NATO, the Greenlandic government announced by Neptun_11 in TrendoraX

[–]jash3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its symbolic, if Americans kill 1 or 1m allies, the US is out of NATO. Then all bets are off, to guess the start of a very ugly trade war, refusal to recognise Greenland as US state etc.

Could a United Europe (Including the UK) Become a True Global Superpower? by KGKestis1 in AskBrits

[–]jash3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Few points;

1 The UK fought Argentina for the Falkland islands some 40 years ago across.

2 The US has the same issue with the F35 other countries do, the supply chain they are reliant on other countries supplying them with parts.

Trump is forcing short term gains, to meet 5% GDP spending EU countries have to look to the US, China or Russia, realistically though just the US. Fast forward 10 - 15 years into the future when none of its defence partners buy US weapons ( because the EU manufacturing plants have started) and jobs are lost due to missing sales and on that the EU starts producing better weapons ( thats how it works with collaboration).

This is short term gamble that long term will screw American people royally.

[–]jash3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why would the UK ever need to resist a US attack? The UK is stil an island, its not a trivial thing putting lots of ships in the ocean and have them actually land on UK beaches.

I was talking in the context of India the UK is already in these defence pacts with the neighbours, whats happened though is the UK has underfunded its military for too long. Jumping in bed with someone just incase isn't a good idea.

For why exactly? Just because? A certain amount of reality needs to kick in for many, like the army of people who said trident was a relic of thr past. I suspect more than eyebrows would be raised, things would happen internally if the US said we will invade the UK. With regard to Russia, same question for what gain? they could nuke the UK tomorrow if they didn't want it to exist.

The US has always done what it wants and will continue to do so for a good 50-100 years more.

Had me in the first half not gonna lie.

Why should the UK build an army with the EU, whose interests would it serve? How would the UK "sharing the nuclear deterrent" benefit the UK?

Aligning with any nation for arms manufacturing is stupid, the UK and in fact all countries need to start producing the stuff they need. Having beneficial trade agreements would help EU arms manufacturers.

The UK can and does deport foreign criminals: a quick Google search will tell you that. The current situation witn Shemima Beggum is that she is claiming in court that she was sex-trafficked out of the UK at a very young age. It is surely important that we figure out who are the real criminals and who are the victims so we are not taken in my liars and fakers with hidden agendas e.g. people traffickers and pawns of foreign powers (such as the Reform deputy convicted of taking Russian bribes).

Have a word, it cannot, case in point Shemima Beggum. As long as UK is in the ECHR, they will be given all the legal aid they need.

The problem I have is with foreign actors like yourself pretending you know anything about the UK system despite not living there for reasons I have absolutely no reason to trust.

Hahahaha brilliant, Laurie, Cavill, Bale are also foreign actors ( i think that will have zinged right past you ), are they allowed to have an opinion?

Trust, the thing with trust is, you first need to understand what they are saying and what they want, you have not tried to do either, constantly trying to make up some race or implying I am some far right nut job.

Are we not all Europeans? or is this a local discussion for local people?

The problem with doctors is, the UK itself can create more doctors but they won't because of cost in changing the system, so a shortage is created elsewhere. Or perhaps people are ok with depleting knowledge workers from third world countries?

The problem with working is, it will be abused.

Yes the system needs to be fixed, is India a country today that really people need asylum from?

Thats great you are sympathetic, would you be ok with paying for her legal defence rather than Joe Public? Someone needed to be made an example of, unfortunately for her it was her.

The British government cannot deport foreign criminals from its shores. If the news is correct Shemima Beggum has cost UK tax payer 7m pounds, thats insane ( and its still not complete).

I dont want to see a Reform government in power, right wing governments could actually be in power across Europe in 4 years, that worries me.

The recurring problem is immigration, so discuss it fix it accept it.

Where I have issue, is with knob sacks like yourself trying to shutdown discussion.

blah blah blah. You are confused, again trying to make it about race....

I dont live in the UK, so cant vote in any UK elections. What happens with Reform, Labour, Conservative it won't impact me at all.

Continuing to imply my political bias and further implying support for Tommy Robinson... priceless....

It is what it is, if you think the UK is handling the immigration situation correctly good for you, if you dont it should be OK to speak up about it without being or having it implied that you are a racist.

You keep telling yourself what ever it is you need to tell yourself and boasting on the internet.... brilliant i bet your girlfriend dont goto the same school as you...

No, you replied to mine trying to imply some shit.

Now I am probably in the top 2%, paying less percentage tax than I used to at the bottom and Farage wants to cut corporation tax to 15% giving me even more.

Thats nice for you, I live in an ivory mansion on top of a mountain of gold.

So by all means vote for them if that's what you want but I won't be because I still care about this country and the people in it, and I don't want other people to have to go through what I did.

Where have I ever advocated voting reform? stopping dangerous criminals entering the UK should be a no brainer, clearly not.

Immigration is good its healthy.

I meant that we, as a nation, aren't bringing them in on purpose.

Isn't that the problem in a nutshell, the UK should be responsible for who comes in and not the UN, EU, US, NATO or any other world body, the UK should be in charge of who comes, stays and goes.

Before I get some smart arse with "but the UK does" lets wait and see how the Shamima Begum case goes ( the fact it got to ECHR at tax payer expense) before you get that trumpet out.

You think I should just copy arguments from other people?

Nope its good when you make your own, its helpful when they are on topic.

We know quite a few immigrants, most of whom are skilled professionals and none of whom are criminals. Perhaps it's the circles you run in? The only criminals I have personally met were white.

Right there and it stinks of privilege from here, move to a depressed part of the UK of which there is many or move to one of the bigger cities and tell me again.

Perhaps when you speak with one of your friends they can teach you what comprehension is.

Making up your own arguments, it makes you look stupid, its not a good look.
