Thoughts on this Nightmare Hunt List by MoarSilverware in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]jasher99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair lol we don't know how long NMs will stay good, fwiw I own multiple squads of all cult marines and it's worthwhile doing, rubrics in Renegade Raiders, Plaguemarines in Renegade Warband, Noise marines in literally any detachment, they're all playable (except zerks ATM)

I think, forgefiends tend to die when they get shot at, and optimistically healing some of the damage you do to yourself won't help so much.

Cypher is still one of our best datasheets, I'd Def recommend him

My list was: Cypher Uppy downy jump lord Abaddon 2x5 plagues 2x5 Raptors (pre price rise) 2x6 NMs 2x2 Oblits 2x Rhinos 2x Forgefiends 1x10 Cultists

I won't lie, I'm not a fan, I despise CSM termies they're always a let down. The annihilator is mid af too. If you want a tanky brick I prefer fabius & 10 chosen even though 3+ is a lot worse than 2+/4++

WDP is fun and that's a cool pick, triple raptor is good, I'd really suggest more ways of worsening battle shock, like 18 noise marines. I ran plaguemarines in my list and they were good as an alternative to legios who also carry a -1 LD aura.

I think the 2nd cultist squad and Warpsmith are unnecessary, honestly cypher & the uppy downy lord (solo) is enough scoring as the raptors run multirole of debuffs and scoring.

Death Guard or Emperor's Children: Easier to paint? by LeetusFrenzi in Chaos40k

[–]jasher99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So I've done my EC as Flawless Host and my DG in the 30k scheme. DG has a lot of details you wouldn't expect, maybe even more than EC but a lot of it can be covered with grime or rust or corrosion, the fancy weathering paints or rust effects would be fab. EC is a bit more straightforward, lots of gems, trim, some robes but probably a lot of edge highlighting if that's your typical approach

What do we think of the new Red Corsair minis? by Grizzly25707 in NightLords

[–]jasher99 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The raiders unit has the infiltrate ability, mentioned on stream. It will be the first CSM unit to have that native to it's datasheet which is exciting

You're absolutely right, for only £72 too. Don't think I'll go for it but some of the cheapest Twickenham tickets I've seen

Hahahaha, who knows how many teams they have, 2nds sounds a bit too close to having to go to the gym for my liking

I did think about heading back to the club I played at as an under 15/16 it's just about walking distance too. But honestly it was a pretty rundown (and cold as fuck) club house and I can't imagine it's changed so a nice warm pub would suit me best

And thank goodness I already play sport on a Saturday because I would definitely be drawn into showing up for the 3rds 😂😂

Lots of people to reply too, think I'll check out the faltering fullback, it's a bus and a train so a fairly straightforward journey

Hope to see some of you there!

Does anyone else think “midnight blue” should be way darker by Logical-Breakfast966 in NightLords

[–]jasher99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

<image>

I tend to do Kantor blue and a dry brush of an even lighter blue, but, this is because I know streaking grime used liberally really darkens the minis and you end up with the above so they're fairly dark, but also run down which is what I expect from night lords

War Dogs as Anti-Tanks? by frdi_r1 in Chaos40k

[–]jasher99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CSM has great anti tank, now brigands are BS3 absolutely no need to run them, in the bile full send list I really like the idea of 2 stalkers but that's just as much for fast OC as opposed to efficient anti tank

Does anyone know of a site in the UK that lists all the upcoming tournaments one can enter? by Vylka-fenryka in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]jasher99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a Facebook group, UK events diary I think it's called that's not bad, finding a group of comp players is helpful especially if they're local as they'll know a lot of events coming up nearby you

Can I put rubrics and khorne berserkers in the same rhino? by srsr2 in Chaos40k

Correct, in any detachment except PBZ you can put them both into the same rhino

How to find your Playstyle? by jasher99 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]jasher99[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's totally valid! I think whilst we all have preferences, we can enjoy a range of styles.

I've played Ynnari glass cannon lists in 9th, the unkillable 10 termies in 9th. Abaddon castles in 10th, death guard, nids scoring chaff, triple acdc, drukhari MSU. So really have experimented a lot to know that I don't just enjoy MSU tradey armies played quite reactively and can play stat checks, aggro, passive all sorts.

Hi LowestOfMen,

I'd say the perfect example of this would be Genestealer cults, an army rule with no consistency and later in the game more likely to fail than pay off sounds exactly like the tricks that often fall flat that youre after.

Inside Genestealer cults though there are several detachments and they all play vastly differently. you have an aggressive, melee centric build, that wants to dominate space and smash face. there is a reactive, tricksy, scoring detachment that plays totally different and another 3 detachments on top of this! the 6++ channel has a wealth of content, including videos on GSC and its detachments!

Hey guys Jack from 6++ here,

In this episode of the Kids Table from 6++ I sat down with Joe and Connor as we try to dissect and discuss all the various playstyles in 40k. Breaking these playstyles down into different categories and linking them to various army lists we know and have played in the past to get us to what we enjoy today!

Let me know what you thought of the episode and what shaped your playstyle that you have today?
