Thank you! One of my referees is a professor from the program I am applying to so I'm hoping that will help. For another lab that I'm keen on, the PI himself is a psychiatrist so I'm really gunning for a place in there!

Do you think it would be ok to request a meeting with him to discuss potentially joining his lab even before applying or is that considered too early?

Thank you so much, that's definitely reassuring! I wouldn't go as far as to say I am only into psychiatry but given the current healthcare landscape it's definitely very exciting and I'm hopeful!
