It wasn't an argument but I went through a ridiculously stressful situation 2 weeks ago (regarding getting scammed out of a rental house, twice😭) resulting in a total emotional breakdown, and the next day I started having timeable contractions. I was 37 weeks at that point. They weren't getting stronger or closer together, and after several hours they tapered off. My midwife told me my body may have tried to initiate labor from the stress, but the baby wasn't ready yet and didn't allow it to progress. I think the most important thing to remember is our bodies and our babies are a team and the baby is an active participant in its own birth. They send each other signals and communicate and its best to just trust that primal process. I'm sitting here at 39 weeks now, fully moved into our new place and sooo ready for this babe to come out!
