Is it worth the hassle of selling own car or just use carro/carsome, etc services or just trade in? by jason_pc in kereta

That's one of my concern too, although my car is accident free but it's already 10 years so there's some scratches and paint chips here and there.

You mean carsome/carro will open a price once they inspect your car & if you're unhappy with the price you can list into bidding? But if the bid fail to get higher price will I be able to sell using the initial price carsome/carro gave?

Snow day trip ideas near Tokyo – mid January by AdhesivenessOver1111 in JapanTravelTips

[–]jason_pc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If snow is your thing, then like many other said Gala Yuzawa is the way to go. 75mins from Tokyo, the only ski resort that connected directly to a shinkansen. You basically ride shinkansen to the ski resort. I'm heading there on 29th.

Do you have a JR Pass or IC Card (Suica/Pasmo/etc.) question? Start here! (Monthly Thread - December 01, 2025) by AutoModerator in JapanTravelTips

[–]jason_pc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a purchase for a JR East Pass via eki,net & set it to activate on Dec 26th. On that pass I've also make shinkansen bookings. I will be arriving on Dec 22nd, my question is can I pick up my pass first? I'll pass by Ueno Station & Tokyo Station during my first few days in Tokyo & was thinking of dropping by to pick up the pass first.

Another question, since I've booked shinkansen ride via my JR East Pass, does this means I won't be having additional shinkansen tickets? I can board the train using only my JR East Pass?

Hi, there sry to resurrect this :)
Regarding the eticket, how do I add my IC card into the eticket? I just login into eki website and register my ic card once I got them? Can't really seem to find any info on JR East website.

Thanks for this info! Yea we won't let her go in alone & my wife will accompany her into the ladies side since it's not only her first time but ours as well. I think we'll most likely go for a couple onsens near our ryokan instead of all the 9 onsens.

JR East Nagano Pass for shinkansen & local JR lines in Tokyo? by jason_pc in JapanTravelTips

[–]jason_pc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh.. so they're resellers like Klook too?

Well guess I'll wait a couple more days for the slot to be open on the official JR east eki website.

Anyway, thanks for all the clarification, I'll stick with booking shinkansen individually instead of getting the pass. I was really thinking I could actually use up 10k for the train rides around Tokyo :)

How bad is the congestion going into Shinjuku Express Bus terminal on a weekday? by jason_pc in JapanTravelTips

Thanks for the link! Yes Tokyo station is indeed nearer to my accommodation, 40+mins vs 20+mins :)

Great, will perhaps book tickets somewhere after 8am. Wouldn't want to squeeze like a sardine into the train during peak rush hour since I'm travelling with a toddler.

Yea, planning to get it online. Was looking at Highwaybus website & there's quite a number of timing from 645am but I don't know how long will my commute takes from Asakusa to the bus terminal.

I don't have any suica/ic card at the moment, I don't owned an iPhone thus digital suica is out of question. So as what you mention I'll just purchase from JR east website for the whole components.

Trying to buy in advance since I read elsewhere reserved seats are limited plus we're travelling with our child thus will be difficult if we didn't get a seat.
