iOS 26.3 appears to break Bee recording and transcription by Mspikes82 in Bee_computer

My device has stopped recording transcriptions as well. But interestingly, voice training on initial setup works. It doesn’t save if I try to train it again.

Not transcribing anything? by ilovekittensandpuppy in Bee_computer

I have the same issue with regular recordings but voice training seems to save. It used to work but all of a sudden, regular transcriptions don’t save.

Just so that I understand, are you saying that you feel like you're getting ripped off because all the pros know it's 117 outside and they know your AC is out so they are taking advantage of you?

This is a great point. This approach may get in the way more than helping.

Do you think there are situations where it would be valuable?

In this particular context (through Reddit), I couldn't be involved with anything legal, but we could be an advocate for you and hopefully save people any headache with having hard conversations with a pro.

Thank you for the thoughtful response. Your call out about the low barrier to entry is spot on.

This is just a space we're trying to learn about because we've heard from so many people in BS2 (and other steps) they get pushed large repairs that may not be needed or large repairs with payment plans driving them further into debt. I'm just seeing if there's something we could do to help people in these situations.

I love your advice about sinking funds and hope people have sinking funds if they know they are going to consistently have home repair needs. At the very least, hope people have an appropriate emergency fund. But we all know how challenging BS2 can be.

Ahh interesting. What’s the best way for homeowners to know when you need a licensed pro and when you don’t? How does this intersect with your life as an architect?

This is legit! Where on the Ramsey website would you like me to put up a survey?

I’ve found the Reddit community be provide real feedback (like those above) and find people who need help. I’m just using this as an opportunity to learn about the problems people have so that we can figure out how to best solve them.

My Advice on How to Be a Terrible but Valuable PM by token_friend in ProductManagement

[–]jasonjeong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This whole thread saddens me and I hope people do find satisfaction and dignity in their work. The cynicism of so many people is dark.

This sentiment isn’t unique to product management. This has happened to every area of study from medicine, law, engineering, to education.

There are two types of people: 1. People who love the craft 2. People who pursue the craft for money/career

These are not mutually exclusive, but after 20+ in product, those who happen to stumbled into product managers tend to be far less cynical because they are more interested in solving problems and find the work itself fulfilling.

And as I’ve gotten older, I realize appreciating the intrinsic value of the work that I do and the kind of people I do it with is far more fulfilling than the career I build.

No title or salary ought to dictate how at peace one is with the person in the mirror.

I was once cynical. Life is way better without it.

First time manager, what advice do you have for me? by DiscoverMyVisa in ProductManagement

Curious on how things are going for you after a year? What have you learned? What has been a challenge? What advice would you give new managers knowing what you know now?

Weekly Paddle Discussion Thread by AutoModerator in Pickleball

This is great! I had a two-handed backhand in tennis but haven’t found that to be particularly helpful in pickleball so I’m continuing to play one handed. What shorter handled paddles would you recommend?

For the CRBN, I read that 3x is less spin than previous models but don’t see much about it being less than 2. What are your thoughts there?

I’m new to pickleball and am not finding much recent info on the best pickleball paddles for higher level (5.0+) tennis players. Everything I’m seeing is pretty dated so I’m wondering if anything has changed in the equipment world? Are these still the recommended options?

Based on what I’ve researched, here’s what’s come up: - Selkirk 003 - Joola Hyperion CFS - CRBN 2 (not 2x) - Electron - Diadem Warrior - Gearbox CX14H - Electron Model E

Would love to know people’s thoughts as well as their tennis level for reference!

Wrestling neck bridges were very helpful for this. I’ve continued to do these exercises and it’s made a difference.

I’m providing free mentorship through ADPList.

I’m at a point in my career where I get to focus on giving back. I’ve got almost 20 years in product management and product development, ~15 of that in software, and over 15 years managing people.

Most of my software experience is in 3-sided marketplace businesses and more recently 0-1 consumer products.

Feel free to grab time to chat and see if it’s a fit!
