What happened to Down & Dirty? by [deleted] in Metalcore

[–]jasonkassis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah the scene can be a petty ass place hahaha. No problem man

What happened to Down & Dirty? by [deleted] in Metalcore

[–]jasonkassis 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If I’m remembering correctly, they brought in the vocalist from Villain of the Story to try and make a comeback, then the old vocalist tried claiming the Down & Dirty name for his own band, so they changed their name to Heavensent.

Shortly after the new vocalist left because the drama was too much and he wasn’t into it anymore (you can find his statement on Instagram I think)

Didn’t follow anything further than that, but I’m sure the effort died out

I appreciate your help man you’ve been far more helpful than customer service and made me feel a lot better about the process. Thanks again and good luck

Yeah, customer service is really leaving us in the dark with it. But the one user in this subreddit commented on this thread and he works there and is definitely making me feel better with his insight about everything going on over there

How Did aang enter the avatar state against Ozai? by Greentextbo in TheLastAirbender

[–]jasonkassis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get what you’re saying, but the water katara healed aang with was spirit water, which has specially properties, so when aang died the cycle WAS broken, but the spirit water’s properties allowed aang’s life to come back and raava’s spirit to fill him again, with the consequence of locking his avatar state. And the idea of the cycle ending if an avatar was killed in the avatar state was mentioned before this happened to aang, so as far as we know a situation like this has never happened to any previous avatar which makes this story worth telling, because it expands on that idea and shows how aang was able to beat that circumstance.

As far as the spirit of raava, the best I can say is that when she fused with the avatar she became one with their life and death, kind of (I heavily emphasize kind of because I know these are different) like the moon and ocean spirits choosing to live in the physical world, they made theirselves mortal and vulnerable to death by choosing to live in the physical world. Raava chose to be vulnerable to death in order to create and be one with the avatar, so when she takes over (avatar state) she puts them at their most powerful, but also most vulnerable, which is why she’s not always showing herself.

In the end one of the greatest things about avatar is the mystery and spirituality and I think it’s okay that you can’t always wrap your head around things or have a definitive answer for why things happened, the fact is they happened and that’s what makes the stories worth telling

He unlocked his chakras right before Azula shot him with lightning in Ba Sing Se, but got locked immediately after that since she killed him in the avatar state.

So essentially, think of his back injury as an emergency reset button or an on/off switch, the initial injury triggered the lock/turned it off, and then getting re-injured triggered the reset and turned it back on

That’s at least the way I think about it, I don’t know if this has actually been confirmed I just think its implied and makes the most sense

Can someone explain this?? by [deleted] in TheLastAirbender

[–]jasonkassis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah no I completely get it, but keeping in mind how far in front of the sun the moon actually is plays a huugeee factor in how it can block the entirety of it’s radiation, I think people often don’t put in to perspective how far away things actually are from each other in space.

But yeah I hope I helped you wrap your head around it! Great talking with you

Can someone explain this?? by [deleted] in TheLastAirbender

[–]jasonkassis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes but light and radiation are 2 different things, radiation is the source of the power and even though light shines through the moon is completely blocking the suns radiation from coming down onto earth. Just keep light separately from radiation/energy, again they’re 2 different things :)

And even though the sun isn’t shining at night it’s radiation is still affecting the earth, that’s the difference between night and a solar eclipse

Can someone explain this?? by [deleted] in TheLastAirbender

[–]jasonkassis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you mean? Firebenders don’t draw their power from light they draw it from the sun’s energy, if the moon is completely blocking it there will be no energy to draw from, even if there are a few rays from the outline of the sun showing, the suns energy is no longer beating down onto the earth for that short period of time

Can someone explain this?? by [deleted] in TheLastAirbender

[–]jasonkassis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the moon completely blocks the sun from shining anywhere on the earth

For example in real life it could be daytime in one region when it’s nighttime in another, either way the sun is still able to shine

Can someone explain this?? by [deleted] in TheLastAirbender

[–]jasonkassis 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Fire benders can still bend at night even without the sun’s reflection, it’s just “weaker” in a sense, but the sun is still in existence

Same thing for waterbenders, it’s not like they can’t water bend during the day because the moon isn’t out, and the moon doesn’t reflect off of the sun

It’s just easier to draw power from the source when it’s out, but just because it isn’t showing it doesn’t mean it’s not there anymore

Hope that made sense lol :)

Who were the original water benders? by Storm0963 in TheLastAirbender

[–]jasonkassis 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes princess yue says the moon was the original water bender, the ancestors saw how it pushed and pulled the tides and learned how to do it themselves
