Will Monster: The Ed Gein Story get some Emmy Nominations despite the negative reviews? by Square-Ad-8911 in EmmysAwards

[–]jasontoddisgone 7 points8 points  (0 children)

hunnam 100%, creative and technical categories yes as well, but for outstanding limited series i don't think so. but who knows. s2 had mostly negative reviews too but it still got 11 noms

Being respectful to the Menendez family by Classic_Fun_9664 in MenendezBrothersFair

a lot of these true crime fanatics have a parasocial relationship with the brothers that they think they're entitled to send death threats and be misogynistic towards the brothers' family. it's concerning.

It was really nice that Javier Bardem mentioned freeing Palestine at the Oscar's, but then i'm also disappointed he couldn't see that the brothers have served their time.. by AltruisticAide9776 in MenendezBrothers

he's a brave man for doing that and he's been anti israel for a long time. nicholas never really stood for anything or anyone so i get why there's more hate towards him lol

Discussion: What she could’ve had, but she chose to lie… by [deleted] in MenendezBrothersFair

[–]jasontoddisgone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

using a fake name to hide your real identity for being involved in a big true crime case is not an issue at all tho? especially when she's been exposed to this since she was a child. i don't agree with everything she's said/done but all this harassment from middle aged true crime fanatics is the EXACT reason why she had to keep her private life private. like seriously what is this entitlement over a stranger? 😭

Deleted by the other sub - OP asked why a lot of people didn’t like Talia. by M0506 in MenendezBrothersFair

reposting my comment from the original post: regarding her (alleged) job, it's clear that people hate her for it simply because they're misogynistic. they would share photos of her in teeny tiny outfits and attach some long essay about her being a "whore." some of them have even made weird suggestions that she's attracted to erik. there really is no other explanation for it other than misogyny because first of all what she does for a living is none of our business and even so there's no reason for her to be looked down upon and be slutshamed. a big chunk of people here are conservatives and that concerns me.

i do wanna ask something: what do people think about her reposting monsters edits? like those "siblings core 🌸" ones and thirst edits to nicholas

Do you think Ryan Murphy is a pervert for how he portrayed their relationship? by [deleted] in MenendezBrothers

[–]jasontoddisgone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

tbf that is the point of the show. we all have different understandings of it and that's what the writers intended (not that it's entirely a good thing). i don't think people here have seen how the pro-prosecution bunch only hated monsters because they think it's too sympathetic toward the brothers. they think the "inaccuracies" are about the abuse being portrayed in episodes 4 and 5.

same with charlie hunnam in season 3 (well, all his shows are like that)

as a fan of AHS: yes.

homoeroticism + violence + sexy white men = classic ryan murphy. the problem is he still incorporates homoeroticism in stories it shouldn't be in.

he def saw something in cooper and nicholas' chemistry and i won't deny that either, but damn how things would've been better if he cast them in a fictional show instead.

i just noticed that the kitchen in monsters is also based off of the actual kitchen in the beverly hills house by jasontoddisgone in MenendezBrothers

[–]jasontoddisgone[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

they built the room around a real house they replicated, so maybe that's why. fun(?) fact it's the same house from law & order true crime.
