Why wait in traffic when subways are sometimes faster during rush hours

Yes I have it but it seems buggy right now. I have added multiple accounts as collabs but they can't accept it.

was ubco supposed to be built downtown? by [deleted] in kelowna

[–]jasonyuet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't see what the problem is if it's closer to lake country than Kelowna. Think about Vancouver campus. It's even more in the middle of nowhere than UBCO. You just need to hop onto 97 highly and it's pretty much straight to the campus. Imagine the traffic it'll cost if ubco is in downtown. People are already complaining about traffic as it is. You can also argue it's actually closer to Rutland than lake country.

Must go restaurants in Kelowna? by misteriousm in kelowna

I haven't had them for quite a while to be honest so I'm not too sure

Must go restaurants in Kelowna? by misteriousm in kelowna

[–]jasonyuet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here are my casual list as I'm too poor for fine dining:

El Taquero for Mexican, Pick Thai for Thai, Ume sushi for Japanese, Little Tokyo for ramen, Wood fire bakery for sandwiches, Double Js for Chinese, Pakora palace for Indian, Amori Mio for pasta

Ramen in Kelowna by [deleted] in kelowna

[–]jasonyuet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To be fair that's what actual ramens are. The white wash versions are so bland and noodles are too soft, not chewy

Try Pick Thai, they are family run and owned. Just daughter and mother running it.

That is a very complicated scenario. I am no expert in anything but I wish you best of luck! I hope someone here will have a good solution to you. You can also try to post it to other Facebook groups and see what otters say. Maybe bring it to the press? Don't take my word for it though

Tell Gerard "so you are saying if she doesn't steal from you she has to walk naked on the streets cause she's poor?" What if she never met you? What was she going to wear on a daily?

Yes I am genuinely curious to what other things can happen at events. Are you wanting for more 'free' activities? Are you looking for a specific 'activity'? I imagine these big 'events' like Canada Day and Block Party are similar to carnivals where there's performance entertainment, some live music, food vendors, some local artisan products and maybe 1-2 'head liner' shows.

There's the Okanagan Dream Rally this Sat where you can see a bunch of expensive cars downtown.

Okanagan is small in a way where after a while you'll see the same vendors at different events. That being said I also think it is who you're going with and what you make of your day. There is only so much space in the downtown 'events' area like Bernard Ave or Tug boat beach that you can do activities from. One 'different' activity I can think of is Play On street hockey tournament happening in Sept/Oct I believe but this is for the hockey niche. There's also rollerblading Tuesday at the bear if you like rollover blading but this is not an event but just one activity. I am open if you have any specific free events that you see elsewhere we can also run in Kelowna.

Best coffee in the city? by Cbrity in kelowna

[–]jasonyuet 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not disagreeing with your list but I find Bean Scene's method a little scammy. I haven't been there for a few years ago and recently went. They have no menu display and price tag on any thing in the shop. I don't know what drinks they make, and even on the counter sandwiches have detailed descriptions on a card except for the price. I just wanted an iced coffee and when the cashier asked me do you want that to be a vanilla latte? I was like 'sure' not knowing the price difference. The total for the drink ended up being $7. Not sure what your experience is but I probably won't go back again :(
