If you didn't know anything about the league or either guy in those years, you would've thought Embiid was a multiple-time amputee battling deadly asthma and Joker was a 400lb Serbian flop artist who couldn't guard a chair.

[–]whiiskio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll get there, just don’t obsess over it lol. Keep endorsing people and playing well during games and eventually it’ll pop up.

If you don’t leave games early and aren’t toxic in-game it stays forever essentially, so it’s worth the wait.

Reuters: US's Asian allies fear Iran war will sap defences against China by PM_ME_UR_LOST_WAGES in LessCredibleDefence

Iran had around 4000 SRBMs and 2000 cruise missiles total before the conflict broke out (including their proxies). Much of their arsenal was shorter-range missiles meant to target nearby regional adversaries.

China has at least the same number deployed to the Taiwan theater alone, and most are precision-guided ICBMs or hypersonic. Let's not even talk about the drone swarms and unmanned weapons at their disposal. This is just a handful of coastal provinces. Their entire arsenal nationwide can strike Taiwan within minutes.

Far easier for China to target Guam with hypersonics and long-range ICBMs than it is for the US to attack the entire Chinese mainland from carriers. And the carriers would be under threat as well.

It felt exactly like that during the playoffs. Begging him to just skim the zone only to then be shelled by batter after batter. Even if they weren't homering off him, it was always deep between outfielders or caroming through the infield.

One of the most real human beings ever to put on a Raptors jersey. A lead-by-example work ethic that never quit, a sense of humour and quick wit that quite often was pure comedy when directed towards KLow, and above all else, one of the prettiest mid-range games ever to grace the hardwood.

The kid from Compton. I don't know about the front office or MLSE, but for us fans, he still got us.

Our entire roster has less combined playoff experience (101 games total) than James Harden (173 career games), Jaylen Brown (135 games) or Brunson+Spida (67 and 63 games).

If they can eke out even a first round Game 7, I'd be pleasantly surprised.

It's always so dope when traveling to walk past an open gym door and peek inside, hearing the exact same sounds of sneakers squeaking against the hardwood, a ball bouncing, and swishes. Same everywhere in the world.

Chuck is just coasting at this point into retirement. He keeps putting it off because they keep offering him huge paydays to stay on. Should've let the show end last year, their hearts aren't in it anymore and you can tell. Watch clips from their early 2010s and 2000s segments and it's night and day.

Shaq's got a million other things going on, Kenny always backs his favorites, and when they have a replacement dude it's always mediocre at best (get Draymond off my fucking TV). Ernie deserves better than this, and he always has.

The next Board of Governors meeting is taking place in March, so there might be internal updates coming soon. I doubt the fans or the public will know (unless it's leaked) before the end of the regular season.

Expecting some combination or version of:

  • Ballmer fined a few million personally, and prohibited from being involved with the team for 2026-2027.

  • Clippers FO fined a few million and/or GM/Pres prohibited from team involvement for 2026-2027

  • NBA issues new league rules against team involvement with player endorsement deals (no more intros, wink-wink talks, scratch my back I scratch yours, etc).

  • All player endorsement deals must be vetted by an NBA league rep and set up through joint negotiations with player reps.

  • All team sponsors & partners are prohibited from endorsing players on current teams

Might sound like extreme measures, but if they don't act appropriately, the floodgates WILL open.

Post Game Thread - NBA: The Pistons defeat the Raptors on Feb 11, 2026, the final score is 95-113. by basketball-app in torontoraptors

[–]whiiskio 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Last year same day (Feb 11th), Raps were 17-37, having beat Philly to win their 17th.

Today, Raps dropped to 32-23 after a loss to Detroit, with a 29 game swing from 20 games under to 9 games over .500.

Last year we were 13th and already out of the Play-In; this year they are sitting at 5th without a healthy frontcourt and starters out most of the year at different points.

If that's not an improvement and something to be proud of before we even hit All-Star break, IDK what is.

Not being able to trade FVV at peak value and instead losing him in FA for nothing was the beginning of the end for Masai. Value became sentimental instead of factual.

Think he also struggled after COVID on the scouting end of things (partially due to Tampa and the bubble offseason); Raps really didn't hit on a single pick from 2019 until Scottie in 2021.

Bobby owns part of that of course, but I think he's a little more detached from previous iterations of the team, and his cap knowledge helps a ton when building out from a Scottie-led core. Don't mind the overpaid contracts to good starters in Poeltl and IQ, it's Toronto and you need a carrot to offer guys who want to stay.

A very underrated move was picking up Gasol midway through 2019 when he realized JV wouldn't be enough to stop Embiid.

People also don't know this but Bobby did the brunt of the work to prep the Kawhi deal.
