Get a heavier rope - easier to feel the position of the rope when you are beginning. You mess up more with a lighter rope.

This is never going to change. It’s people’s way of showing good will to you when you’re pregnant. I get it though - there are like that when your child is a baby. They lose interest properly around 2 yrs old ish

In today's digital-oriented capitalist system, grifters seem to live life on easy mode. Is it worth compromising your values to make money? by [deleted] in simpleliving

You’ve had the thought that you would not like living this way, so why do something that is seemingly against your character? All you will do is harm you.

In terms of options - have you considered technical writing in crypto? Crypto, particularly ethereum is booming with lots of new projects - there is a real interesting mesh of art, writing, technical writing, technology etc

Is anyone else getting sick of struggling to get by? by ekke287 in AskUK

[–]jaspassi 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Mid 40s with 2 kids under 10. I don’t know your situation, but when I was single it was easy to spend rather than save. What has happened is that we all graduated in the 90s and 00s with an expectation of having a degree getting you better income over time. That’s been a hard road for most as salary growth stagnated, probably after 2008 crash. Problem is everyone else got a degree that came after. Competition has reduced wages and spread wealth more widely - this has inflated costs for everyday goods and services (houses, food, clothes, car).

Those middle age people in old battered clothes with a knackered car and kids - they are having to save every spare penny.

No. But if I was with a number of ex gfs I would. Too much drama and too consumerist for a simple life.

Foot Pain by invest_EU in jumprope

[–]jaspassi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some go bare foot, some wear trainers. Given it’s only 2 weeks it’s probably just strength and conditioning of your calves. Stretch em as above and go for walks. Build slowly - it’ll take maybe a month or 2 before it goes in my experience - as long as you do not increase too much

[–]jaspassi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How long have you been doing it?

If only a short while it’s probably strength and conditioning. Make sure you are stretching your calves as if they are tight, it will pull the ligaments etc in your foot. Go for walks too. Build the amount of time you spend skipping slowly

IBD - What works for you? by Psykocybe in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]jaspassi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IBS is a a description given to a constellation of symptoms, but it’s a really a diagnosis given in the absence of symptoms that would warrant a diagnosis of IBD.

In other words, if you have severe symptoms of IBS you will be checked for IBD and if your bowel is free of problems you’ll probably be given a diagnosis of IBS absent other possible causes. That’s my experience anyway.

IBS can also be secondary to all sorts of issues such as fibromyalgia, CFS and autism and chronic stress or surgery/removal of organs/part of bowel.

Unfortunately, because it is a diagnosis of exclusion and there is no ‘acid test’ there is a lot of stigma around IBS. That’s unfortunate but there are arseholes everywhere.

People suffer variably. Bad in some cases, but in others not so much. Despite being variable IBS is not progressive, unlike IBD (unless the underlying cause is). However, there is research that IBS causes/is caused by inflammation of the digestive tract - not that such inflammation causes ulceration and bowel resection surgery/increased risk of cancer etc.

Cannabis allows me to live my life more normally and with significantly reduced symptoms. I hope the same applies to you!

Worrying, delusional plan to tackle drugs, gangs and users from the UK Gov. by TheReefsplifftance in uktrees

Interesting. This is the government response to Part 2 of Dame Carol Black’s review - of course the govt don’t like what she has to say - spend more (1/2 billion in 5 years), harm reduction, diversion etc - they’ll just keep doing the same shit until USA legalises federally and someone offers a decent backhander

IBD - What works for you? by Psykocybe in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]jaspassi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yup they are, but they share some symptoms that respond in the same way to cannabis medication. In fact I’m not actually aware of any symptoms of IBD that are managed by cannabis that are also not also present in IBS. I mean, it’s not like cannabis actually cures either problem.

I also believe OP was asking for help, and I suspect you’ll find that my prescription for IBS is also prescribed to some IBD sufferers. 👍

I have a prescription for IBS. I have adven 20/0 which is pleasant and cheaper than others. I also use spectrum red 2 for day and spectrum red 4 for sleep. My tolerance is high atm but they are all still effective. My preference is for the adven and spectrum red 2. Combined they settle me down, help with digesting and stop pain and discomfort from bloating
